Sen.Robert Byrd (D) West virgina compared the republican party as hitler`s nazi party. Now is this kind of man you want to reresent our country? Every democrat has lashed out all kinds of things to president bush and the republican party. Every one of them from hillery clinton to diane feinstein, barbra boxer, ted kennedy and dick gephardt. Its time to take a stand against these foolish quotes by our representives!.
Heres the story

I just clicked on it reading this .. I did NOT know
that Sen. Byrd was a former KKK ?!?!??!

I have no love for Senator Byrd. However, the article was written to be as inflammatory as possible.

Hyping up his former Klansman status? Many famous people are former Klansmen, that just means that they learned their lesson and moved on from that life.

Hyping up his parallels between Nazi Germany and today's administration? Many people think the same, they're entitled to their opinion. Perhaps WV people who voted him in think the same. So, he's representing them well.

Who the hell wrote the article? There's no writer's name in the editorial -- which means the writer isn't independent and just writes whatever he thinks Republicans want to hear.

We need more people like Byrd to counter the the GOP insanity. Byrd is absolutely correct that Bush is closely following Hitler's steps, as I have pointed out many times. Everyone should know that the Bush family bankrolled Hitler's rise to power, so it should be no surprise that Bush emulates him.
Vote out the scum in 2006, and get rid of the crooked Diebold machines!

As far as I know, there are no "former KKK'ers". I did a brief search of "Sen. Robert Byrd KKK" and this popped up. A bit of his history.

As far as the "Hitler" analogy, that has been used against every administration for quite a while. I do remember references in the press to "Hitlery Clinton", so I think that is just hyperbole, and I do not take it seriously no matter who says it. Besides, gun control was one of Hitler's first acts to control people. As far as I can tell, Bush is not for gun control, but I've been wrong before. Just ask my wife!

Don't be so sure about the gun control.
Last November an agent of the ATF (Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco) came to my door and asked if I had any guns in my house.
Seems like I had a brush with the law a few years ago, but I will spare you the details.
I politely told him where to go.
It makes me wonder how many others are being "visited."

I know Beowulf is NOT a Nazi.

You made a contradiction there.

Even people who werent Nazi didnt believe that Holocaust existed. It has nothing to do with one being a Nazi or not regarding the belief that Holocaust even existed.

I'd like to point out that from my experience, this doesn't happen randomly. If they asked you if you had a gun and left it at that, chances are somebody told them that you had guns...and since ATF is federal, it would have been part of an investigation of some sort (they don't go looking for guns or arms)

Are you sure it was a true ATF agent? I've never seen ATF agents work alone when doing an investigation, especially when it comes to firearms. There should have been more than one agent. Additionally, if it would have been part of an investigation, he wouldn't have left it at you telling him politely where to go.

You mention a 'history' so I would imagine that either they were investigating for some reason (and truly believed you had firearms) or they were not a true ATF agent (I've seen impersonations of police, ATF agents, as well as alarm company technicians) trying to get information or is casing the place.

I'd respect your privacy if you don't want to share the history but the ATF wouldn't randomly pull people off the street to ask them if they had guns.

This seems to be just another biased website that I don't find reliable. If you're wondering what I'm talking about... NEWSMAX.

Nope, Ravinsteve, I am not a Nazi. You apparently are. That, and a blithering idiot.

Taylor, trust me, he was a bona fide ATF agent, he showed me his credentials. And you are correct, someone "snitched" in saying that I possibly had guns. And he was alone. (You said that they USUALLY do not work alone but this time was the case.)
As for my "history" I will leave that alone for now, since I am trying to get that part expunged from my record, it was a setup.

I am not clear on this. Are you saying that after you told the agent "where to go", he just left without futher discussion or action? And he didn't give any reason for asking about your guns? Since November, has anyone tried to take your guns? Our you saying that this recent visit was related to your previous "brush with the law"?

Sorry, I know you don't want tell everything but with just the teaser that you offered, it is very confusing.

I love Michelle; she and I are on the same wave-length.

Yeah, I don't think of Sen. Byrd as a "former" Klansman; I think he packed away his white sheets but he pulls them out of the trunk every so often and longingly reminisces about "the good old days".

And Robert Byrd called somebody a white ni**er in the senate floor and they didnt make him to resign. And Harry Reid a democrat used a racist remark about condi rice and general powell. But trent lott was a strom thurmonds 100th birthday party and said this quote"" If strom thurmond was president back in 1948 we wouldnt be in this ethical mess"" Now democrats cried foul and they force trent lott to step down from senate majority leader but they wont ask the resignation of Robert Byrd or Harry Reid. Now how come its ok for democrats to make racist remarks towards blacks and republicans cant?

I guess that u meant that Sen Byrd had been and will
always be KKK in his heart regardlessly so
there is no such thing as "a former KKK"...
Which town/city still have the highest nbr of
KKK residents ?

I would guess that would be hard to find out. I think one of their mantras is secretness, thus the tradition of the hoods during public appearances. DO YOU have a population count on them?
