Millions of people have no jobs in Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and other Coastal Cities...

How can we celebrate Labor Day?

...I have no job now so I'm out looking for more. it's not the end of the world.

we live each day as one day and we don't need to predict the future we live in today! stop worry u ll end up with grey hairs!

let's live ALoha!

Do you ever consider doing volunteering work, Steel?
Maybe go to Red Cross and stuff?
Well I thought about it, but I don't know.

Javapride, I already got some gray hair, cause I am 34.

Had a brushfire that was close to call in San Diego. It was burned in the Rancho Bernado (Penaquitos?) area off I-15.

Did worry a bit. We (my husband, MIL, and I) already made plans to spend the holiday at my home for BBQ but we took the in-law's dog JUST IN CASE. It was close to my MIL (mother in law)'s house.

At least it was taken under control by the firefighters quickly.
(Remembering the Cedar Fire)...

[EDIT: I am adding a piece of news about the fire.

A brush fire in Rancho Peñasquitos burns more than 200 acres, becoming the largest fire in San Diego since the deadly Cedar fire in October 2003. Some 200 homes are evacuated as flames come within a mile of a densely populated suburban neighborhood near Los Peñasquitos Elementary School

Well, the Cedar fire burned about 7,500 acres (and plus there were two other major fires in SAn Diego County which were Paradise and uhh Vista fires so...) so the recent wasn't even close... nobody dies, no structures were burnt down. It did threaten a highschool.. then burned up a rolling hill then headed down to houses which people were BBQ'ing in their backyards and stared at this giant wall of smoke.... about 200 houses were evacuated but the "Firefighters had the blaze 40 percent contained tonight and expected to have 100 percent containment by 2 a.m Tuesday, said San Diego fire information officer Maurice Luque." So it should be o-k. ]

Well anyway, I know it is :topic:

But would you guys stay at the shelters, knowing there are some people
ex con, murderer, pedophile, drug addicts or something like that?

And that Superdome should be the scariest thing ever,,
no electricity and eww sleeping in the Superdome in the dark,
not knowing if strangers are watching you.

thought, you are 43 ?

 I too agree with Javapride and HiBlue that we need to take things one day at a time. There are so many people now without jobs whether they have been devastated by this hurricane or not, and although they have no job, a lot of them thank God they have their family to support them emotionally, their health and a home to live in.

As for the people who have suffered in this terrible aftermath, taking things one day at a time will take longer for them. Hopefully eventually, they will look back one day, and thank God they are still alive. There is just so many emotions they are going through, it has to be so hard for them.

Volunteering is another good idea, helping a person who has less then we do right now, a lot less. Instead of thinking it's a Sad Labor Day, we can make it a "Wonderful Labor Of Love".

i had a great labor day. i went to my gf's friends house and we had a bbq. i had chicken and hamburgers and hot dogs. then i sat down with my gf and we talked with other friends. then she came over to my house and we watched tv, took a nap on my bed and then she went home. the only bad thing about labor day is i got a huge stomach ache from eating too much.

Heritage, Not Hate

What's up with that CSA flag?

Heritage means you have to follow white society. You can not friendly chat with any colored people...

:thumb: Hey AJ!!!! I am so happy to hear that things are working out with you and your girlfriend, you both sound very happy, and working at making your relationship happier.

You both celebrated Labor Day with the feelings of the "Labor of Love". Good luck to you both!!!
