Hey everybody "mechanic guy", today I clean my girlfriend's car myself alone while she works and I found package of remote car starter in the trunk. I asked her how long it had been in the trunk? She said I bought this myself few years ago and her ex bf refuses to install the remote car starter. So I dont know how to install it, does anybody know how to install? If so please help and instruction to me, thanks! :)

Let me show you the pictures of remote car starter...

damn....I wish I had it in my ZX2 Escort but too bad its a stickshift....install it in the car, press button on remote ....and its whoooa call the wrecker to pull the car off ditch...

Anyways is ur gf's car got automatic? since the remote starter is only for cars with automatic trans not stickshifts....Plus the car MUST have fuel injection instead of carburetors since the starter is connected to the car's main fuel injection computer.

Better to have PepBoys or a car stereo shop install it for you that way save you the whole trouble of installing it yourself.

It might..... The electronics are much complicated in newer cars than older cars without computers on it. You might splice wrong wire and the car ends fucked up......

That why I strong advice have someone skilled in car electrics do the job.

Hmm... I've heard of this before. I'm not crazy for remote starting kits.

You should be crazy about it. Try remote starting in the wintertime!

save your time when you stand front of door and using remote to starting your car engine than walking and unlock the car door and sitting then starting engine during winter that's waste energy ;)

Oh I forgot one thing: Chevy just made a remote start starter option on the Malibu...

from http://www.chevrolet.com/malibu/model_lt.htm

Remote Vehicle Starter System

The new Malibu is the first sedan in its class to offer a factory-installed remote vehicle starter system.(1) With a unique key fob you can start or your engine from nearly 200 feet away. The system can be disabled via the Driver Information Center and a 10-minute idle auto-stop feature is also included. Standard on LT models, optional on Sedan and LS.

If ur gf feels like trading the Toyota for something with a remote starter, this is the only new car AFAIK that comes from the factory with one.
