He Quits being an anchor man for CBS NEWS. Now George Bushs lawyers can began to file a lawsuit against dan rather all the lies he told about his military career that almost cost him the white house.

The President coulda done that, anyway, Steve. Anyway, I don't think the President is going to waste his time on the likes of Dan Rather. Granted, I didn't like Rather much. I really didn't. He's an arrogant ass, and I'm glad he's gone, but get real, Steve.
 
The President is the boss of them judges. Just like hes the boss of the military. He fired his general did he? He can do whatever he wants! Cause hes the boss!

He is not unemployed, Ms P. He stepped down from CBS News, but I'm probably guessing they gave him a nice retirement package, or a nice severance package. Whichever, is more applicable to the situation. You are correct in that he will also be doing other things for his news show, 48 Hrs. Therefore, he is far from unemployeed.

I had no problem with Dan Rather. He did pretty good job on covering news all those years. He did some wrong things. but think twice, he gets news from writers that gave him the information to tell on the news. makes you think twice, uh?
 
Dan Rater is no monster he is one tough journalist, and he will be remembered not the story that he blew but he was one good journalist. Dan Rather is no better than you or I, and He made a mistake.


How many times Bush made mistakes and you still stood by him? But you cannot stood by Dan Rather after all he was one darn good reporter he found stories that are so darn good to be true, he asked very good questions, And still you judge him for his one mistake?

Ravensteve and Miss* Pinocchio pretty much you both don't like almost anybody and still look at yourself here you are no better than they are. How did that felt when people wanted you both to leave AllDeaf? Make you feel lousy inside? I am sure so before cheering about someone who withdraw from CBS, Maybe try understand people make mistakes, we are all human aren't we?

I agree with you. In my opinion, I always thought he's one of the toughest and greatest journalists around. He's going to be missed when he retires. Go Dan Rather!

yeah i agree with downing and Cheri very good message I hope that wake them up. It just that everyone make mistakes and I believe Dan Rather is being brave enough to admit the mistakes he has done and willing to go for retirement which I admire the most.

Anyway i heard abt Dan is leavin this show.. i know lots ppl will miss him.. he is great person and work for many yrs also he was did wrong thing in past... but past are over forever

Remember when dan rather walked off the set because the U.S Open ran overtime? And bushs dad commenting him about it? Just because a show ran overtime doesnt give you a right to walk off the set. Suppose we all walked out of our jobs? What you think boss would do to us? Suppose we all walked out of class in a protest what you think the teacher will do to the class? So i think CBS did the right thing by forcing rather to step down. He made too many mistakes. I think on 60 minutes producers should read all rathers stories before allowing them to be on the air.
