Psychology Today Hit Piece Labels Conspiracy Thinking A Psychotic Illness

Bwahahahahahahahaaaa!!! :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Nice timing with that link.

In many cases, it meets all diagnostic criteria. In all cases, it meets the criteria of holding onto delusional beliefs despite all evidence to the contrary. But this is nothing new.

I think that psycology today is a conspiracy to make normal people think they are sick.

And all on anti-depressant. The more they're on it, the happier that the capitalist pharmaceutical companies will be (and richer too).

Yes, of course. Depression isn't real. It's a conspiracy to keep Americans drugged.

in some cases it is purely a normal human reaction... Say like someone had an car accident and became paralyzed and is depressed about it (and they never experienced depression as bad as they did now) .

Conspiracy is really thinking outside of the box. Or maybe I should say, unpopular opinion.

BUT if it get to the point that they can't function at work or home... then they have a problem.

Conspiracy thinking is a bit more than thinking outside the box. In includes elements of paranoia and delusion.

Sounds like induced depression to me.

They call it "situational" because the depression is directly related to another circumstance in the person's life (i.e. an emotional reaction) rather than being the result of a chemical imbalance like clinical depression.
