Predictions.... What is next with OBL dead?

Osama went to Afghanistan to train fighters to fight the Soviets when they invaded in 1979. He was funded by the CIA, who also provided training and logistics for the "Mujahadeen" fighters. Many of these fighters continued to be loyal to OBL after the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan, eventually becoming what is known as Al Qaeda. These are FACTS. Not conspiracy.

So, the CIA didn't exactly create AQ, but without their help, OBL wouldn't have been as successful in gathering an army in Afghanistan.

Going to be a smartass: CIA allocated the money to the Pakistani military. The Pakistanis hated Ahmad Shah Massoud and other native Afghan warlords, so the foreign jihad leaders received the aids instead. It's the Pakistani hatred of the Northern Alliance which created the mess.

Why was America aligned with Pakistan, despite such radical interpretation of Islam? Because India was aligned with the Soviets. Unfortunately after the Soviets left, it was the native moderate mujahadeens were pitted against the more radical and foreign mujahadeens engulfed in a civil war. Guess who won.

Hard to say....dunno if they actually wanted to phrase it "that" way...or they didn't mean it "to look that way."...I've also seen a lot of jokes like this...but it's not a joking matter.

I have to agree on this one. I joked about misreading Osama as Obama earlier but if someone does this on purpose it's disturbing.

I have said in the past I think that divide has as much to do with the lack of attacks as anything the presidents has done. I think they rest knowing we are destroying ourselves.

But, in this case I don't think you can point the finger at conservatives. At least not the ones on AD. Most of us have given obama credit for a job well done.

Mostly true. There are a few biased folks on your side of the aisle that are still bringing up Clinton and overlooking the 8 year gap between Democrats. There are a few biased folks on the left that are printing "Obama saved the Planet" teeshirts.

I expect AQ to panic. I expect to see a wave of small, poorly planned attacks globally over the next few months. I also expect us to nip more plots before they happen.

I predict AQ will replace OBL. They had to have known this was eventually going to happen and possibly planned for it.

However, now that OBL is dead, AQ is crippled, we really should repeal the Patriot Act.

Where did you get that idea? I'm conservative, and I believe that OBL is dead. I never doubted it once the White House reported it. I don't want to see any pictures or videos. I don't see any reason to release them.

I'm afraid not all people are on the same page as you.

I don't think many people would want to see gruesome photos of bin Laden. If they release such a photo, I would imagine that they'd crop out the gruesome part just above bin Laden's eyes.

Yeah, some attempt to justify it by comparing it to the assassination of JFK, because the whole world watched his head blown off.

I hadn't seen those videos before.

That first one seems to not deny that OBL is dead but to argue that Obama didn't really give the orders. It's a very weird and confusing page.

It appears that the Napolitano one didn't dispute the death of OBL but questioned the constitutionality of the action.

The Chuck Boom (don't know him) statement was about releasing the photos as proof.

There are going to be conspiracy-type viewpoints all over the place. I still don't think it's a blanket liberals believe and conservatives don't believe divide.
