This poll is to figure out how many and what kind of awards we should present at the AD Caucus - all votes will be by private message only.

If you have a suggestion for an award and who you think should get this, please PM Alex, RoadRunner, VamProxy, LinuxGold or DreamDeaf. I am giving you these options so you can PM the one you feel most comfortable with, although they will also forward the PM to the other mods and me so we can tally the votes and see how many awards we should get and give.

Let me edit this: You can suggest an award on a public post here on this thread - but please suggest a name for that particular award in a PM to Alex, one of the Mods or I. Names should be kept private to be a surprise.

Please, no degatory remarks, no X-rated ideas, or anything that is demeaning to the person you want the award to.

Ideas could be - longest running thread, most posts by an AD member, member who has been here longer, etc; etc.

Certificates of Merits are for people that have made AllDeaf a success - such as Moderators and Members who have been encouraging and supportive, and with new ideas. Please suggest six names for Certificates - by PM only.

All those posted here for voting will not be considered eligible.

This will be kept up until June 1, 1006 and bumped once a week to keep it new.

I think those suggestions are a wonderful idea. How about putting an award and say "The most interesting AD'er" or something like that? Just a thought.

You can PM Alex, one of the Mods or I and suggest an name for the Most Intersting AD Member.

Can you explain specific about Adwards meaning to you?
as same Certificates of Merit meaning to you?
I understand your defination but actually need clarfity truly really important for vote nomination to AD'ers whoever.. name it..

Sounds good but may I say something? For those of us who is going in July, what if there was no award for the few of them, it's might have hurt a few members feeling for not getting any awards....

Beside, those who vote who wanted those to get an award usually are the ones who would pick their friends instead of the " real " reason for those to get an award.....
 
What about public servant award? for ADers who are public/elected officials such as legislator, student senator, etc?
 
Let me add this one - You can vote for whom you like, but we have to be fair and not show any favortism - we will verify all votes by the AD archives and make sure it is a fair vote.

We also ask that you be fair, also and vote accordingly.

Ok - Awards would be for those who are maybe:

Oldest AllDeaf Member - in two separate categories
Oldest in Age
Longest on AD

Longest Running Thread

AllDeaf Member with Most Posts

Postwhore Award (for those who go nuts in their posts)

something like that -


Certificates of Merit would be for those who do more for AllDeaf such as volunteering their time, giving ideas, supportive of other members, and being someone that others could ask for help. Those would be named - maybe

Ceritificate of Merit
Presented in Appreciation to
(Member Name)

and printed on fancy document paper.

Of course, three are already reserved...and you know who they go to.

Sorry no offense but I think Alex, and all the moderators should choose, that way there will be no favoritism cuz I don't trust members voting. Remember what happened before when those who wanted to be moderators pming everyone to vote for them. I don't want to see this going again.

:angel: Cheri has a good idea there. Alex and the Moderators should vote as they can be more objective, and also, they are the ones who sees how we post, the number of postings. It would be really interesting to see how the the votes go.
