is it possible to microwave pizza and it not chew like rubber??? anybody know?

might help if you kept it moist.. put a little water or butter on it

i wish i knew how to make it moist too. i use microwave if i am in hurry. i hate tasting food from the microwave. oh well.

It depends on the pizza.

I prefer microwaving it if it comes with one of those special microwaving "cooking" pads (those silver/white things). :)

I agree with Vampy...

Depend on what pizza you are talking about. Red Baron have microwaveable pizza. It is ok but I prefer oven. :)

I do keep moist by wet a paper towel. One sheet or two will do. Just put under the pizza and zap it. See what it taste like. Maybe will help.

I do this often with tortilla for fajitas. I rarely cook out of microwave. All by stoves and hot water.

If your microwave has convection mode, then you can cook any good size pizza and it will cook just like you can in an oven. I don't think you can cook a regular pizza in a microwave that doesn't have a convection mode. You would need to try plan ahead of time so you have time to cook pizza. :) Worse case, buy microwavable pizza.

In addition to the wet paper towels under the pizza as someone suggested and, if you have a spritzer, use a bit of extra virgin olive oil on top of the pizza...

digiorno's makes an excellent and tasty microwave pizza.

if i put an oven cooked slice of frozen pizza in the microwave, i nuke it for 10-15 seconds inside a paper towel and this eliminates any rubbery texture from developing.

dr oetker pizza i think it is (not sure if u have it there) but it comes out crispy! not soggy one bit..veryyy good

That is why I invested in a toaster oven. :)

I don't care for microwave meals. I just use it to heat up a dinner plate or soup.

I prefer to put my homemade pizza in the (gas) oven, not in the microwave oven... :)

Would you order the prepared dough from a pizza place and then top it off yourself at home?

I've seen that done before from Domino's Pizza. :)

i wouldn't because it's just as easy to buy pizza dough from the grocery store in addition to the toppings.

speaking of which, i *love* homemade pizza. :D

too bad i'm too lazy to make it myself.

That's true.

Some people like the special dough from pizza places other than at home, but prefer their own toppings.

Each pizza place has their own way of preparing the dough. When I worked as a pizza delivery guy, a customer ordered just the pizza dough that was prepared by being spread out into a big circle... then put that in a box and delivered that to the customer. All she had to do was put her own toppings on it and cook it herself. That way, she has her favorite dough with her own toppings. ;)

No, I make some (wheat) dough from scratch. :) I learned it from my late father. He was the owner of the restaurant.
