Pick em up truck

Besides ... why do you think its called a bumper??? Because its there to bump stuff ;)

Yeah that it only if you are driving a bumper car in at a carnival .

I just found out that I don't need emissions on this truck, it is older than 25 years .... :dance2:

Although I do think it would pass anyways.

The more I look at the front bumper, the more I think it is a facial expression than a bumper about to fall off (It isn't falling off).

Looks like it is a scowl ... "grrr.."

Character

Twenty-six states require regular inspection of automobiles to rid the highways of dangerous vehicles with bald tires, wobbly suspensions, smoke-filled exhausts, and defective brakes and lights.

It didn't say anything about bumpers or damaged car body... :hmm:

Which states require regular automobile safety inspections? - topics.info.com

I thought all states require auto inspections but according to this web site only 26 does and South Carolina has it.

There are actually strict federal regulations on bumpers that started in 1979.

Probably nothing is going to happen with no vehicle inspection required, but the law is there.

I just got back from driving it for several hours - no issues. I also cleaned all the gritty grime off it, armor alled the interior and vacuumed it out.

Nice. :)

Since odometer is 5 digits... has it rolled over once?

You sure the mileage haven't rolled over? :) might have done that twice for all you know.. :D

Yes, I am sure. There is an old service sticker from an oil change dated 2011 and it had 42,000 miles then (belonged to the seller's mother until she gave it to him in 2011)

I think I turned into my dad

When I was growing up, anytime my dad bought something at a great price, he would tell the story of this "great deal" to anyone who would listen. I used to  every time he would tell the story, to uncles, aunts, his friends ....

Found myself doing the same exact thing today ... :giggle:

"Massachusetts

No person shall alter, modify, or change the height of a motor vehicle with an original manufacturer’s GVWR of up to and including 10,000 lbs., by elevating or lowering the chassis or body by more than 2 inches above or below the manufacturer’s specified height."
I knew this about my state . I hate it when people elevate their trucks so the headlights shine right into your eyes or the bumper is so high that damage another car and badly hurt or kill the people in the car.

I was only talking the which state require auto inspections , I thought it was required in every state. I been lucky and never been ripped off when having my car inspected .

My wife wants me to paint it .... any color except red (she doesn't like red :dunno: ) She will not get awfully upset if I decide to paint it candy apple red (its my truck) but I do want to paint it .... see the groove running from back to front? I want to paint that like a "pinstripe" and then paint the truck a different color ....
