Pay Up, @$$hole!

What happen when Levi refused to pay the child support;

Depends on what defense he'll come up with this time. I'm not sure what their laws are like and if they are able to order someone to pay more based on an income mostly made up of one-time payments from interviews, photo shoots, etc.

I read that it's 20% of one's salary, but it didn't say income. So I'm not sure what will happen.

Besides, it's obvious they are both hungry for money. People these days.

I'm not speaking of the amount.

I'm speaking of in general. The court will decide the amount and once it is decided. He will be required to pay.

If his income varies. Then she will be back and forth to court seeking that money.

Which he should pay regardless. It is his child too.

Can not stand it when men or women try to cop out on paying to help make their child or childrens life easier.

Exactly. And for the next 18 years. Or for a grand total (not assuming any increase due to cost of living increase) of $378,000.

Levin should've thought of first the responsibility of what fatherhood entails when he went to bed with her. No father has the right to skip child support payment.

Depends. Sometimes child support is dropped if the mother wants full custody.

The way I see it, ur not a man if you don't pay ur child support....my 3 boys didn't get a damn dime! (they're adopted). But just wait....soon as the "dad" gets out of prison, I'm gonna hit him for every bit of his SS, the $$ and the property his deceased father left him too! And if he gets a job....say hey Buddy, that paycheck is mine and the boys!

i am pretty sure child support is waived once the children are adopted by their step-parents or adopted parents, at least that's how it works here.

That is not true.

A parent can have full custody and the non custodian parent still has to pay.

Hence... "sometimes." Depends on what the lawyers have drawn up and what the parties agreed to.

Like Souggy said, it depends.

Like I said, both Bristol and Levi are money-hungry. Only God know what she would spend $1,750 per month on for her child. Teenagers today. They are all, I want this, I want that, I want more! It's never enough for them.

Levi is a deadbeat father. Bristol is a spoiled brat. They both had sex and are now paying for their mistake.

Gladly, it's not my problem to deal with. Good luck to them because they'll need it!

Money includes expenses such as housing, food, clothing, medical, baby supplies, travel expenses, other misc expenses and so forth. Regardless of the amount, the father pays for his share of support.

Usually meaning the non custodian parent relieving all parental rights. That is only if the judge grants it.

Depends on the reasons for divorce, separation, or lack of parental responsibility, the judge will allow child support to be dropped.

That's why I was irritated with kokonut's all-inclusive statement.

If you're going to include me then it'd best to give readers exactly what you're referring to about the "all-inclusive statement."

I think he should bear the responsibility of the costs to raise a child. As for the amount, it is not my place to say as it doesnt concern me. Hope they all get it worked out because they child is the one who loses out if this becomes a media drama.

I quoted you earlier on. :)

No father has the right to skip child support payment.

The case I am referring to is a military member of the United States whose hometown is in WA. They divorced. He paid child support, then started falling behind on it. Upon investigation, they (social services) found out that the two had a history of spousal abuse-- literally, the ex-wife was beating the man. So What happened? She ended up keeping the two kids; he didn't have to pay for child support anymore as a result of the investigation after a two-years court battle. The husband is now trying to get custody of the kids due to... some mother's neglect issues with the kids-- been going at it for 3 years now.

So... like I said-- it depends on the judge and lawyers find out-- regardless of public opinions.

Sounds like my brother. He finally won custody, and now the mother is refusing to pay child support after my brother paid up for it religiously for 7 years.

What does "spousal abuse" have to do with child support? Just because the couple are beating each other up, or one is beating the other up, what does it have to do with the kids? They have to eat and clothes to wear. The couple picked each other to marry, slept together and had kids....so the kids have to suffer becuz one parent is abusive to the other? Nah, doesn't float.

Doesn't even matter if they lose their jobs, working at BK until finding another one at least would give the kids $20 a week or more! It's not the kids fault they were brought into this world by dead-beat parents. The kids "come first".

Take that up with the judge. :) I don't know the full details.

Don't judge others, until you know what's going on-- even I am not sure what's going on because the person and his girlfriend (the girlfriend and I are close) is fighting to gain full custody of the kids.

*shrug* Each situation is unique.

If this man is working, and refuses to pay child support, becuz his wife abused him, then that's OK?? What did the kids have to do with this? Now the custodial parent more than likely has to seek state aid and food stamps. Another tax burden!

So many excuses from parents "not to pay their child support". No child should suffer, no child should fall thru the cracks, no child should be left behind.

Many parents give up their parental rights, and the child can be adopted and into a more safe and stable home. But that doesn't exclude the State from going after them for all the aid given to the child. That's done in Florida. And the parents SS and any property/wages they make.
