Hepatitis C can be contracted only through blood but it takes extremely tiny amount of the infected blood to infect you. In fact, the odds of getting infected with Hepatitis C through blood is ten times more than getting infected with HIV with the same given exposure.

It's amazing considering that blood exposure is the only way to get infected, around 100,000 new cases of hep C every year is reported in USA.

American Academy of Pediatrics recommends immunization for both Hep A and Hep B. I'm in the process of getting our whole family vaccinated. There are a series of injections for both Hep A and B.

Hep C vaccination is not routine. Hep C vaccine is recommended for people in high risk groups, including hospital workers who may come into contact with blood.

Regardless of how Pamela contracted Hep C, it's sad that she has this disease.
 
Yea I work at the nursing home and I am due for Hep B shot. Gotta go and make a call.
 
She is getting older and does look different but I think she is aging gracefully. I am sure there are some other photos of her out there maybe more current. She still looks pretty healthy to me though.
