I wrote this poem for my daughter, Nicolette Paige. I recited this poem for her during her funeral. I love her dearly and I miss her. :(

Nicolette Paige

Oh, our sweet Nicolette Paige,
Through the time since we made you,
How you've grown like the sweet dew,
In the womb with so much care and zeal,
Your kicks and jumps that we could feel,
Truly connected our bonds together so true,
Only we dreamed your life to nurture,
Fed our spirits so full of joy,
Looking forward our lives to enjoy.

Only, then only 'til the end so fragile,
Your life has gone and we'll wait all the while,
You've gone to heaven, but don't despair,
Because someday soon we will meet you there,
We will always miss you as your life departs,
Nicolette, we'll always hold you in our hearts.

That is beautiful. :) I think it's wonderful that you've written this. So many times, writing as an outlet can prove to be incredibly helpful. It's a masterpiece...I hope you will have it framed and hang it up somewhere in your home, maybe? :)

I'm recovering pretty well. Deborah is still struggling, but she's coming out of it slowly quite well. Writing poem as an outlet do, indeed, help me with my grievance.

BTW, I also have her handprints photocopied on my poem, with her name printed across. It's beautiful!

I think it's awesome that you were able to salvage her handprints and that it's on the poem. She will be with you both for the rest of your lives, even if not physically. She will live on in your hearts and memories.

Take care of yourself and Deborah.

That was very beautifully written LG--like Malfy suggested, framing this somewhere in your home surely may be a source of healing whenever this poem is looked at and doing so by adding a rainbow within a golden frame, that's bound to be a graceful fitting in your home. I'm able to draw an inner peace just from reading the words expressed in this poem...with words bleeding from your heart turning into deep heartfelt poetic thoughts--Very graciously beautiful....
