On January 7th of this year (2008) I had major operation- Gastric By-Pass surgery. Prior to the operation I weighed 300 pounds at 5' 7". As of today (February 18, 2008), I weight 240 pounds! That's 60 pounds!!

I will start exercising using the band resistance equipment in order to also gain some muscle definition.

That's wonderful! One of my friends had that operation in July...she has lost 80 lbs so far. She said 30 to go.

That is a huge weight loss. Congratulations! :) You seem to be determined to meet your goals. Keep up the good work. :)

Congratulations!! You're so lucky that you could be able to get that kind of surgery, to make your stomach smaller, it helps you eat smaller and makes you full faster.

I heard that Gastric bypass surgery isn't for everyone, I was told you have to be in a certain weight level under their guidance and have conflicts with health.

The operation is ideal for me but (now) I have to remind myself to eat because I rarely get hungry.

As of today (3/5/08) I have lost much more weight. I have gone down two pants sizes and my belt are being used extensively. Wow!

Congrats..............It's not easy to loos weight and I just want to say keep up the good work!!!

Wow thats great for you..

I have lost weight before and I can do it again.. but its so hard being depressed and nothign to look forwaRD to.. it sucks.. :(

Congrats! Keep it up! It is so damn fucking hard to loose weigh!!! UGH!

What's your goal?

Well my ideal weight (measured by both my age and height) is 180 lbs. So anywhere close to the point on the scale would be my goal. I also want (am trying to) to gain some muscle.

I just want to be as healthy as I can be. I am surely moving in that direction. It is vital that I do this now because I am of middle age and there is a history of diabetes in my family. I have no choice and especially after the surgery.

Thank you all for the kind words. They mean much to me.
