Only 55 percent of young Americans have jobs, lowest since WWII

I think that we can all agree that Congress' current performance sucks. What's the current approval rating? I'm sure it's very low.

I think I have a link that you might be interested in.
The highest approval rate is 35% and that's from a cursory glace at the list!

It must have fallen into the negative numbers at this point.:giggle:

Do you have any links for individual Congressmen's approval ratings? I could find only national polls on individuals but I'm curious about how residents of each state rate their own Congressmen. After all, the only ones we can vote in or out of office are the ones in our own state.

I know in my area, most all of the jobs are being taken up by the many people who were laid off during the slump. There were notices sent out that there would be no jobs available for high schoolers, or people without any work history until all others were placed. Hubby is looking for a 2nd job and they are turning him away. He wants to even find something better paying that what he has now, and still, nothing.

people say that kids getting jobs hurt the economy because they dont pay taxes and less taxpayers will have work.

Wirelessly posted (droid)

I only see national ratings on the news. Lately, that's been in the toilet. They are bound to be regional diffences. Unemploymet varies by location. Places like Cal. & Mich. were hit hard.

Ahhhh....the trouble with government published statistics. Always years behind.:laugh2:
Either that or voters would rather have a dead senator in Congress than the current ones. :giggle:

When kids work at a job that doesn't pay them "under the table, then they do have taxes taken out of their checks. They may not have to file taxes with the IRS if they don't make enough, but they do contribute some with their paychecks.

I was more interested in Congress as a whole. I would imagine that approval rating is higher for the district that voted for them but that others who are not from it may not like that Congressman depending on their politics.

I'm sure dead ones would do better job in congress. Reason being is they are unable to be bought.

Too bad we can't kick out all the members of Congress and Senate at once!

Good idea, kick them out... then replace them with... you? me? our pets???

a (very short) satire...
"Mr. Goldfish, I see you abstained to voting in the last bill. I though we had an agreement that you would support my bill and in return I would blow bubbles in your bowl. What seems to be the problem? (in bubble talk) Sorry Mr. incumbent, but bubbles out of your ass is not my idea of a quid pro quo." :laugh2:

Well, at least our goldfish won't make any promises that he doesn't intend to keep.

Well, he is very reliable... if you need a blowhard, he's your man... er... fish.
