Olympics swimmer suit

Have you noticed something different with swimmer wears at Olympics?? It is way different than old fashioned, and it is more faster too.... their swimming suits are more like surfer's suits. Nike, Speedo, and Adidas makes them.
 
I translated some of the page and it seems that they are using new materials. It's based on the skins of sharks. Shark skins are made to skim through water like a knife cutting through hot butter. They're body suits so that more of the body can move through water easier than before. I read about this years ago, it was just a matter of time before they actually put it into use.
 
Yeah, it's been widely used in Australia -- I've been impressed with how the manufactors have discovered a way to create a bodysuit that will not hamper with the swimmer's movements and etc.
 
Those suit are common today at high school and college competitions. It has been around for few years and it was widely used during past couple summer olympics. My brother has one and it works very well for him.
 
*chucklin'*...I couldn't help chucklin' at this line by Vampy: "...like a knife cutting through hot butter." If it was hot butter, pretty logical that the butter would be in liquid form...perhaps he simply had a typo here and meant to say: '...like a hot knife cutting through butter....'

Just as it is with any sport, they are discovering more technical advances to achieve the greatest outcome! These shark skins is just another advantage in swimming...some or all of these Olympians' swimmers are known to shave every strand of hair on their bodies to achieve less resistance in the water...heck, I could achieve maxium resistance to the water just by walkin' around the length of the pool!! :naughty: :lol:

When you look at the effort of cutting butter, you can see how much easier it would be when cutting through hot butter. That's the same with these suits. The materials are almost grease-like that you skim through water quicker and easier than before.
