I was driving on my way to work and saw this at someone's house. So, I took a couple pictures.

(Sorry I couldn't get any closer.)

Yep, it's an old Corvette modified for off-roading. ;)

Sheesh!!! I am sure it is gonna be difficult to do off road, have it converted to true 4x4? I mean that it is difficult to see in front. I was in vette myself and the interior were rather small and you sit lower than normal truck where you would sit higher and get better view.

If they can do, then gee! cool!

I've seen many cars converted to off-roader. Trans-Am's, Caddies, Lincolns, you name it. They just put the car body on top of a modified 4x4 truck or Blazer/Bronco frame. In Tenn, I've seen my share of those strange hybrids due to a heavy redneck presence there.

Just a few examples! :) It's fun to see odd looking cars on 4x4 frames with big wheels!

Vampy, perfect for a bundle of people on a rocky off road trail! :)

Remember when Marty McFly got his pickup truck for his birthday in Back to the Future? Well, I bet Marty would prefer this...

and he wouldn't mind using it at all! Sadly, that make of the model wasn't available to continue :(

Does the Mr. Fusion come installed in it? Could have had come in handy in 1885!

Woot! I definitely would love to have that one, heh!

There's a lot of off road vehicles that are modified around here in Kentucky. I've even seen a pinto that was modified for off road. I just thought it was too weird to see a really tiny car that was suped up, haha.

15 years ago, I saw very tall Chevy car in Overland Park, KS. I tried to remmy what model of car (I remmy it's a sport car) but it have 6 ft tall framed platform underneath it with regular tires. Can see driveshaft from tranny tilted down to axle. Two young guys were driving it. They made a right turn and drove down past me :eek2: and it look like about 6 ft tall. Betcha guys climbed the frame to get in the car. But it is dangerous cuz if he made a sharp turn, his car will tip over and slam on side (ouchie must be painful fall). It wasn't 4x4, just 2x2 tho.

In my highschool year (25 years ago), I have seen small car called Opra 'spelling?' (1970's rare car look like cute little Corvette) and it was modified with pair of big fat wide drag tires and pair of front skinny tires. Drag tires are from funny car. The car seem tilted nearly 30 degree down from rear to front. By looking at the rear part of car, You can see spacing between drag tires on axle just about a foot or two apart!!! Just barely fit leafsprings and shock absorbers! I've seen this many time driven by College kid cuz he live near my area. It's freakish car I've seen. The kid had to back down the seat in order to have eye level on road
