On Oct. 4th at 9:00pm there is a true story Movie on Lifetime channel,

It is called "Plain Truth" , it is about this attorney who is defending an Amish girl on trial for killing her baby...was it murder or accident.. It should be a very good movie with alot of twists because, the teen insists that she was never pregnant, and secrets. :ty:

Oh yeah, I mark it down and is going to watch that movie... :)

Hmm...interesting. Will probably see it when it comes out on DVD in the near future.

I saw the movie tonight honestly, I did not like it at all. Because this Amish Girl Kept denied that she was ever pregnant or had a baby. but, the doctors say she was pregnant and had the baby. Her lawyer wanted the truth out of her but, she kept lying over and over and over again! I got sick of the fact that she wouldn't tell the truth. First she said she was "Rape" and then after her lawyer found shots of pictures of this guy and her cuddling up/kissing... She questioned the Amish girl while telling her she was going to quit.. but then she finally told the truth about this guy she met during her time visiting her brother whom went away in College...In court she said she Murdered her baby because, she had an infection and thinks she at blame for the murder of her baby ... but, then the juries announced that she was guilty for not getting medical attention but no prison time ... at the end of the movie Her Mother gave her daughter's Lawyer a "Gift" and it was a scissors that used to cut the baby's cord. Her Mother did the murdered all along! that was some screwed up movie for sure.

oh yea i agree with u!!! i cant believe that her mom did it!! geez!!! i was shock and my mouth was going drop... oh boy!! this is soo mess up show!!! when i got online and talked cheri about that!! we cant believe that.. wow!!!!

I watched this movie and thought it was quite 'moving' however it was controversial at times throughout the movie....

First of all...the girl admitted lying later on in the movie and giving many different reasons for doing so, for one, being truly scared...for us who don't live the Amish way, the way they adhere (stick to) their beliefs, etc., how they think, etc., we would be quick to say all that she had done was totally wrong...in a sense, it was...she was drawn to be with her brother who was banned from the Amish community for his own personal reason such as attending college...she was drawn in a world vastly different from hers yet she did find someone of genuine interest while later realizing it would never work and admitting her own mistakes for going over the line, that is, being involved in a 'world' that her own Amish community disregards and shun (turn from)....when later on, she felt that she 'killed' the baby by passing along an uncureable disease and also desiring to tell the 'plain truth' of what took place...all the while, her mother is the 'one' that ended this baby's life for out of fear of losing her last 'child'....the story ended there...leaving us to wonder...or what the lawyer 'thought' once she knew the full truth...but the bottom line is...this will be between God and this mother and no one else as everything else came to 'light' surrounding the young girl....

I admit the 'ending' has controversial issues arising from the mother's actions, etc., I do think this movie has given each of us another perceptive view of the Amish community and how they hold their own rules of life outside of the 'world' as we all know it to be.... ;)

Damn... that's fucked up! Good thing I missed the movie! ;)

oooo yea i saw it.. it will come this weekend again.. hehehe!! but i will be out town again dang! lolz!

Yeah, I watched it too and it was a good movie....

It may be easy for us to sit around and judge this young Amish girl but we haven't lived in her shoes to understand where she was coming from and what she may be feeling at that time when she had her baby...

I know she lied too many times but she had her reasons and later did admit the truth, that why this movie is called ' Plain Truth '....
