About time they set up something so we all will know who we are dealing with especially in ebay, dating sites and others.

Think this will work?? hmm..

Well have you heard about the new law that the president just signed I want to say its called Alex Walsh law, its about the Walsh guy whose son was kidnapped. The law says that there has to be a national database of sex offenders, but also what they didnt really publicize is that its going to require websites where there are possibly sexually explicit pictures of people that all users must provide a proof of identification such as drivers license or SS number. So for example this law is going to require myspace, friendster, match.com, facebook, any other website of the sort and all dating websites for users to provide their drivers license or SS# to the website and the website owners must make sure that people are who they say they are and keep their license on record in case the person gets in trouble.

They say that this will keep children off of sites they shouldnt be on, but call me crazy shouldnt parents be more involved in their childrends lives, not letting them have a computer in their bedroom, being with them or in the room when they want to be on the computer.

i have read about that and heard it on news the day bush signed into the law. I think thats great due to dna testing and more safe around your neighborhood.

as for children going online etc. Yes of course parents have to be involved with what they are doing online and always have the talk ensure they are safe and know the rules etc. I always watch my son what he do online and make sure he dont go on any sites but the one that is safe for him like disney.com and etc. We always do this together.. reading stories and looking at pictures together.. its always fun to do that! talking about snakes or sharks which is my son's favorite. later as im sure he will want to do it alone but still i prefer him to do in living room not in his bedroom where i can watch as i dont want him to talk to strangers and end up being butchered, no way! rules is rules.. he will have to learn tough love.. i may look too strict but i want the best for my son. :)

I am all for the child protection but I just think its absurd to make these websites ask people for copies of their drivers license and/or social security cards. Talk about identity theft its going to back fire.

I get the feeling The Big Brother is becoming a bigger presence online and gain more control over web. Call me paranoid

Im happy that Congress turned down the big biz (AT&T and others) proposal to charge a fee to use internet. That would have sucked big time.

Uh oh...

I hope no one does this to me.

I mean, my name is Vampy. I don't need to prove that, do I? :Ohno:

" CyberRed " will remain to be seen since this computer is a faceless, unlike TV with VP. Maybe, someday the computer will open up just like TV with VP in this AD. Who knows ? :dunno: Just get the idea ! ;)

 Good grief! More government control, just what I always wanted.

Unfortunately, I don't see this trend easing up at all. Just gonna get worst...
