Rare eardrum disease, plus infections. Had surgery on both ears, the doctor damaged the nerves...I've had 3 surgeries since. A HA or a CI does not benefit me. Been profound deaf since age 14....Right before I went into surgery, I had 60/40 hearing (both ears)...when I came out of surgery, I was deaf. Now, I've been deaf for 50 years.

My reference has nothing to do with Choice Theory, but is a concept directly from social psychology. Choice Theory is a framework for Reality Therapy. Which author regarding choice theory are you referring to?
But, since you appear to be so well versed in the topic, please explain how choice theory and external control psychology apply to this particular situation.

I'm sure that is another question that will go unanswered.

Obviously, you don't.:cool2: Which confirms the fact that you have not read such a book, nor are you familiar with the concept of choice theory as a framework for reality therapy, nor do you have an understanding of external control psychology and how it is applicable to this thread.
