Hi, I'm Bethany. I am learning ASL this year. I am hearing but I only have 30 or 40% (not really hearing) in my left ear. I really want to get to know some people in the community so I can stay connected after the school year.
Hey, welcome! Do you wear a hearing aid in that one ear? Good luck with your studies! How come you're learning ASL? Do you want to be an interpreter or are you just interested in it?
No, I don't wear a hearing aid. They'refused so expensive and I've always done done with my right ear. Just annoying to constantly explain that I talk loud because of my hearing loss and you can't whisper in my left ear because it'll just sound like "Psh psh psh". I've always been interested in learning sign, and my school got the class for the first time and I needed another class, so I decided to take it and I really like it.
