National Anthem words switched at event

Remember that the mayor forgive her as the mayor said this:

If the mayor can forgive her, so can we. Unless others rather make a big issue out of a mole hill.

Why did she want to make an "artist" expression for? The song is fine as it is. All she did was make a fool out of herself.

For a poster with Jesus on the Cross, I would've expected forgiveness on your part since she sang hymnal and not a battle song.

She sang a song with a plagiarised melody that is the same as our national anthem.

She did make a fool out of herself in front of many others, violated the contract of what she was suppose to be doing. I don't care if she sings the other song at any other time but if someone asked her to sing this specific song and she agreed to do it, instead at last minute change it around without anyone being aware of this, shame...

Still a hymnal....

Secondly the article doesn't say that she had a contract with the city to sing what she was suppose to sing.....

I'm not going to argue with you, just point you right back to the article. What she sang was a hymnal, it was not the National Anthem.

As for the contract, there are always contracts with entertainment for any event. Even when you attend a local girls or boys basketball game and a young person sings the National Anthem, there was a contract prior to singing it. Most times, the "contract" is done verbally and not in a long, drawn out process involving lawyers and contracts and fees. When someone gets more well known, of course, there are contracts written for everything. This may have been a verbal agreement kind of contract to sing the National Anthem, but she chose to sing a hymn in the same melody.

Plus she profusely apologized. I have seen the lyrics to that song and as lyrics go, it's not bad but she shouldn't have done this.....

At least she didn't "grab her crotch and spit" like some other actress did. Remember that episode?

This particular epidsode isn't that bad compared to the above mentioned.

Yeah, I nearly flipped when I saw that. Funny thing is that the funny person never did have the same amount of success in her career after that. :D

uh what funny person are you referring to because obviously I missed it.

As for the National Anthem - I think what she did was very disrespectful and as mentioned before, if she wants to mangle an anthem go mangle someone else's anthem for 'artistic expression'.

I couldn't remember her name at the time . . . Roseanne Barr.
