Just want to mention as UPDATE on my nasal infection and sinus infection.

For the past few weeks I have been going to dr for treating my nasal and sinus infection. And for some reasons they inquire to discuss with me for having pre-op which I am expecting to have surgery after my twins born which it would be sometimes in November. And they found nose bone which its bend that I didn't realize thats why I am suffering pain with nose. It caused me having bent by what my father and mom told me long ago and said that when I was approx. 15 to 24 months old and I walked cold outside in the state of Fla (Perry we have lived in Perry for short time) and I fell and hit hard thing and hit my nose and got black eyes. My parents had to rush me to hospital and they as dr. (which it was back 1965's) told my parents that they couldn't find any damage or so. It has been years while I grew up and we didn't realized that it has been bent for so darn long times. GEEZ. So thats why it caused me having sinus problems which it affect such like when nose bone bent and block and caused sinus infections. So once my twins born I have to go to hospital to have my nose to be back normal. I am not looking forward to have surgery anyway. Also the dr found two things which called Polyp (cysts) in between my nose for sinus infecitons. So.. The most weird thing is that my parents thought that my hearing that I lost-was causing by having ear infection when I was more than 2 yrs old and had serious ear infection and was in hospital but turned out that it could be caused by fell by trauma. And I discussed with three different drs and asked alot of questions. The drs said it could be because back in 1965's they didn't have equipments as of what they have new tech as current. Is that possible to cause me having hearing by fall?

It is a bad new to tell you that you said that you have polyps. There is no cure for it. If you had them removed from the surgery, they will grow back in one year. I have the exact problem. 95 percent of patients reported that their polyps grow back. A very rare patients reported no polyps at all. I bet that your parent has polyps because of your inheritance.

My father told me that we go for a laser surgery in the office by cutting a small area of the nasal and remove the polyps in 20 minutes. The polyps never die - just like bitter sweet vines (plants). I have no choice to go for the small surgery once a year - I am still thinking about it starting this fall. It is not easy for me to find a good and honest doctor that will remove my polyps without sloppy surgery job.

For your nasal situation, I believe that you have a deviated septum. That will solve your problem - a major surgery. I had one, too. It doesn't hurt after the surgery, but it was swell a little. It will go away in one or two weeks. I might recommend you that you use a humidifier mask after the surgery to keep your nasal moist for a half day.

I am not sure what do you mean that it would cause you hearing if you have the nasal surgery ??? A very small percent have better equipment nowadays, but they are still not perfect yet.

webexplorer,

Yea thats what I have been asking my dr about laser and he said that there will be no outside surgery only inside such as laser to remove those polyps and he did mentioned to me that he cant promise that it might will come back later on. NO my parents never had polpys..

For my nasal situtations, yes its deviated septum . Umm umidifier mask, he has suggested me about it. Hope it helps me alot heh.

So you said about not sure what i mean that it would cause me hearing loss if i have nasal surgery? NO what I mean by fall and hit my nose to casue me having hearing loss? Well i know they are not perfect but alot of times when I go to see new drs or ER and they asked me what caused me being deaf/hoh I used to tell them that i had ear infection until I found out that it might caused me loosing hearing by fall not ear infections isn't that strange anyway? But I am so proud of the way I am as I raised anyway.

I have simple question, after surgery would I be require to take pain medicines? I dont wanna take that arghh i hate pain medicines. Also my dr whom I found which it was "Throat, neck and nose" in Tallahassee said something about sinus rinse, which I would be needing after surgery, do you acknowledge anything about sinus rinse?

Remember I am not your doctor, but I strongly recommend
that you try sinus rinse a few times FIRST because
I have the feeling that you really do NOT need any surgery.

You are more likely to need Sinus Rinse (just mix warm water
with sea salt and then pour into your left nose and let it flow
out of your right nose)

That's all you need. (Try more than once and see
if there is any improvement)

IF you see NO improvement, THEN you know that
you probably need a surgery.

Well actually the surgery/laser is for polpys but he has suggested me to do that now and after surgery. It helps me but for polpys I still have to go to hospital. I have had it for so long in many years since I was small child. Image of what I have been going through and feel the pain in my years. I :dunno: what it would be like after all shyt surgery.

Hey Webexplorer I forgot to mention in previous post as I was curious about cleaning in nose after surgery? Funny that my dr has been talking to me alot about it which it got my attention.

Ok, I mean sinus rinse is same as cleansing...
Thats what I did before...

Why NOT try it yourself at home now ?
(BEFORE surgery, rather than AFTER surgery)

Again, I am NOT a doctor I do think that
you need sinus rinse/cleaning now at home
and you probably do NOT need surgery
ONLY IF you see "Improvement".

whoa time out Y, you misread.. I have to go to hospital for my polpys but I continue to do sinus rinse.. But I am bit concerned about right after surgery for polpys (cysts)... Ok.. Anyway tks Y

Also, I forgot to mention that the surgery/laser is for my polpys and nose bone which I have bent to be repair..

No, you do not need a pain medicine. No pain after the surgery - just a swelling nose due a deviated septum repair . I don't remember what cream that I use for my inner nose to prevent the infection. I did it, and didn't like it because it has a small label that has a warning that cannot use it for internal (i.e. nose, mouth, and ears), but my doctor told me to do it. I should have done with salt with water or salt spray which Y recommended you. This is very good method to clean up your internal nose.

Your doctor must fix your deviated septum and get rid of your polyps. You will feel a lot better for a whole year. If the polyps grow back, then consider a small laser surgery in the office instead of operation on the bed.

Can you ask your parents if they have a polyp in their nasal? It is definitely that has to do with your inhertiance. If they said no, then do they have stuffy nose most of time? If yes, that it could be a possible that one of your parent s has it. If still no, then that would be your first one in your family which mean that your kid will have it someday. Nobody (included doctors) really know why there is a polyp in our body.

I better go out for a dinner someone is waiting for me...

I am sorry that you are dealing with your problem. It is a first time that I read your post about your polyps. I always hate to talk about the polyps because it is so hard for me to figure out how to kill them. No medicine ever kill them. I have a feeling that all pharmacy corporations do not want to kill them because they only want us to continue buying steriod sprayers so that they will make a huge profit.

I had a Vanesane (spell wrong) sprayer which worked very well, but the FDA stopped it. I discovered that Nasonex sprayer has side effects: nasal post drips and coughings. Flonase sprayer is a weak to strink the polyps which is not enough to control them. It is better than nothing. If you feel worse, then you could try Alavert pills - 12 hours instead of 24 (my opinion). It usually helps you to feel a better for a while.

My advise is for you to limit amount of steriod spray - not every day. Most doctors say that you need to spray everyday. Less is better that help you to control the polyps. The more you spray everyday that makes the polyps alter a way to defend your spray. I am stunned to learn that the polyps consume water to stay alive. Our body contain about 95 percent of water.

Some scientists have a theory that the polyp is related to a fungi classification.

I decided to become a vegetarian a couple of years ago because most foods contain high corn fruit syrup, corn, junk food, some cheeses, and many other food that are hidden that we don't know what is in it. These foods that cause polyps grow bigger. It takes two weeks for the polyps back to the same size as "original." You might want to avoid eating meats and regular milk because of allergy due BGH hormone and others. I don't feel like explaining it to you because I don't know you. Soymilk and rice milk are good. Organic milk is considered to be okay. Never buy Hood milk and some other regular milk. Ice cream is fair - some stores add Hood milk in the ice cream because it is cheap for them to buy. Raw cheeses are safe. That's enough for me to tell you...

lose hearing from falling

Yes you can lose your hearing from a fall. My boyfriend is a Chiropractor and it is a known fact that a subluxation (bones out of place) can cause many health related problems. Many times with regular Chiropractic adjustments it will help improve or restore vision, hearing, get rid of headaches and migraines, get rid of ear infections, sinus infections, and improve immune system. If you have bones out of place it blocks the normal nerve flow and nerve impulses which can cause many problems. Chiropractic adjustments are very important for improving and maintaining overall health. Most Chiropractors accept medicare and other types of insurance. Most also have very affordable payment plans. You should get checked by a chiropractor. Good luck!!

Sinus infection been going around a lot lately, I even had it and still with the strep throat, but not too bad, but during the Christmas weekend, I end up in the hospital with 103.2 temperature, I had a strep throat, sinus infection, and pink eye. What a Christmas I've had. I've getting better, but slowly recovering. ;)

Hope the rest of you who are experience with having sinus infection, get well soon! ;)

Oh, maybe that is what I got too? Just before christmas, I had a blocked nose, itchy eyes, scratchy rough throat, mild headache, feeling weak & tired and some coughing. Now it is clearing up. My hubby say I could have got a head cold or summer cold. :dunno2:

Cheri,

I'm sorry you were sick during Christmas, but am glad you're on the mend! :)

I've only had strep throat once in my life. At the time, I also had a sinus infection *and* a bilateral ear infection. I couldn't talk for a month (due to laryngitis) and it took forever to get rid of the bilateral ear infection. Thankfully, I haven't had strep throat or a sinus infection since.

I've never had pink eye before, but I know people who have. Not fun. :(

I hope you're feeling better soon! :)

I am allergic to kleenex tissue ! :ugh3: If you pull a kleenex out of the box and the sun hits it just right, you can see a cloud of dust that comes off the kleenex.:squint:
