I was checking into information with training/having trained my pup for the hearing service dog, a couple of questions came across my mind and I wanted to run it by everyone to see what you think and get some input on it.

Hearing Service Dogs are trained to respond to your name. I know my name is common, But if anyone called for a Mike in public I suppose the dog will respond to it anyways....

Now my big question is, Lets say, There is some form of danger lurking ( something ready to fall from above, or swing from the sides or comming from behind... I dont know, just something I havent observed and could be hazzardous...maybe not? Well, if some one is saying/yelling Sir, Mister, ect... the dog probly wont respond? So would it help to have my name on the back of my jacket or something? I know it sounds awkwards but just wondering as I want to train Storm to respond to my name call.

Name or no name, the dogs are supposed to warn you of dangers in front of you or ahead of you. I wouldn't want to worry too much about name "Mike" on back of coat. Make a coat with like "I'm a Dodge guy. I need ___________ for my Dodge. Just ask me". Don't worry about dogs reading your coat. They have eyes to sense danger all around you.

the dog cant read..nothing ever hundred percent..my friend blind had two dogs both led him down a hole and got pensioned off as guide dogs

They are trained for what you need them trained for, Personal or Job. Mine will be for personal everyday living but not trained ( and even the websites mentions ) that they are not trained for hazards like automotives, ect... as they are trained on specifics (eg: smoke detectors, doorbell/knock, name called, baby cry...ect....)

If trained for job related duties then ( car honks, backup alarms, ect... ) depending on what type of job it is being trained for. But the website states and this is several website/trainers, not just one, that states they dont train the everyday dog for car horns, sirens...ect ) So, I thought that they would be but its kind of like a fine line for work and home so, just trying to figure out if I should have her trained on anything specific as I can request it.

Not for the dog to read, just so others would call my name if there was ever an issue? Dogs cant read. or can they?

Would be cool if dogs would read. I don't know how much hearing you had. If you feel it would help you to have your name on coat so others can call you, go for it. Remember people pay a lot of money to have specialized training for their dogs. I hope it's well worth it. Again, if you think you'll feel safer having "Mike" on your coat, by all means go for it.

Some dogs are just straight up stupid, I got rid of a few because of it.
We have a doggie door the dogs are free to run in and out, My first dog was well trained and used it. The second dog I had, a beautiful full blooded black lab would go out and poo come in and pee... and he never learned to do both businesses outside so after a year of endless and tireless efforts to break him of the habit, i finally gave him to one of the outlaws to keep at their cabin so he had lots of room to run and a lake to swim in, he has grown to be a big boy and still does the same, poo's outside but comes in to pee... they tried everything as well to break him of it, and even the vet said its odd but thats him. He makes a great watch dog too, the cabin got robbed and the video shows he just laid there and "watched" them steal stuff.

just dont like cocking his leg in the cold.maybe he had timed control bladder needed good push before have squirt..what time is it where you live

You're wrong , a hearing dog is trained to warn of sound behind you. My hearing dog warned me when a car was behind me and would let me know of any sounds, a person could be leaving their house across the street and my dog would let me know. I can see what ahead of me so my hearing dog did not have to warn me of any danger in front of me. He was trained to response to my name ,but I should also had train him to response 'mom' as my daugther that is what she called me. If you a 'dad' I would have your dog trained to
response to that too.
