Yes, I am wondering the same.

I would like to remind you about Hepatitis B because it's also important for food handlers, hospitail, doctors, nurse, dentist, resturant etc where they use them to deal/treat patients or customers like what I mentioned at my earlier post with link.

Yes, the people from Health Department come to check their shot pass. They will require them to have shot if they dont have one nor they lock their business until they got shot.

I remember it was happened to butcher in the area where I live. Health Department locked his business because he and his employees dont have shot, that's how it got customers ill with Hepatitis A or B (I cant remember which one). Those scandal spread out in the local newspaper saying that the butcher and his wife went to Teneriffe with no Hepatitis A shot for 2 weeks vacation and didnt notice that virus affect his heathly and brought it to Germany and sells the meats/sausages to customers that how it affect customers, too. It's doctors/hospitital's duty to inform Heath Department where the patient's virus come from after test them. The people from Heath Department come to question them what they eat etc until they find the proof and test the butcher then lock their business. All what he did is have to pay the damage what he cause the customers. He is very regret for not have it shot and cover the shot cost for his employees which it's cheap and save than scandal because of "save money" which Hepatitis A/B shot cost is not cheap. one shot cost EUR 300 ($402.75).

yes, $402 is expensive but it's worth and better than scandal to hurt his name and have to pay very high sum where he damage his customers/employees.

I'm also curious as to why there's not guidelines requiring that food handlers be immunized for Hepatitis. This is a deadly disease.

My chlidren got Hepatitis B shot every 2 years but also worker like hospitails, food handlers (Hepatitis A or B), dentist, etc like what I explain in my previous posts here.

Everytime we do a rib cook-off shows, we have the health department people that comes down to the rib events , and they do check each tent or booth, and not once for many many years they have ever asked any of us if we had taking Hepatitis B shots or anything like that..and beside I worked with serving and cooking foods since I was a teenager, and not once required to have that shot either....

So, I dunno....but if it was a " must " or a " law " saying we have to, then how come the health department never asked any of the people that worked at the rib events?...That doesn't make any sense....

Interesting...

I´m surprised that health department never ask you for shot or check your shot pass... interesting. :jaw: because it´s important to have shot.

Here in Germany is stricter about shot... Well Germany is not only one but Europe, too. The owners of business (food handlers, doctors, baker, resturant etc) got letter from health department to go for the check shot pass. Sometimes they went to every stores to control their shot pass. You will be surprised when you are in Germany to see most butchers wear gloves. Every MUST have shot who work with foods, medician, injections, etc.

Yep, they never once asked me for my shot records either... hmm... :dunno:

Someone might want to check into this. It was my understanding that things like that are checked.

Btw, in this case, we are talking about Hepatitis A, which can be spread by contaminated food products.

Hepatitis B and C are usually spread via contaminated blood products, or also by sexual contact.

He is better now.... He went to school today.
Thank yall for the prayers. :P

I pray you all don't get flu.

Yep, You are correct! Not even Burger King asked for our shot records either or Pizza place too, So I don't think it's requirement because if it was we would have gotten notice to do so. :thumb:
