Yep, this is the moment where I realize my kids aren't as little as I'd like them to be.
Today, My 7 year old son was playing with his toys and his first baby tooth fell out. He ran up to me and was so excited because the past 2 years, my oldest son had almost all of his baby teeth falling out. He wanted to be like his brother but was so disappointed. When his tooth fell out today, He just could not hold his excitement in today! So, I gave him a small empty medicine bottle to secure the tooth in it. I was happy for him but at the same time I was a little sad to see my little boy's growing up.
Boy, When it came to his bed time tonight, He was beyond his excitement and kept holding the empty medicine bottle in his hands. He didn't want to let go of it, haha. I had to explain to him that if he puts it under his pillow, the tooth fairy would come to put some $$ in it. He also wouldn't go to sleep right away! After a while, I told him that if he didn't go to sleep, the tooth fairy wouldn't come. He cooperated and went right to sleep! Thank god it worked like a charm!
Of course, I made sure he was deep asleep and I had to be careful not to wake him up to get the empty medicine bottle with his baby tooth in it to replace it with $2. I'm curious to see his reaction in the morning when he sees the $$ in there!
I'm sure every parents on this forum has went through this at one point.
