Well, it's after midnight. Here's a clue:

How many vowel(s) does the first name have? Second name? Third name? Fourth name?

Therefore, how many vowels should the fifth name have?

There's your answer! :thumb:

Yep, the answer was JACQUELINE. The first name had 1 vowel. The second name had 2, third had 3, fourth had 4, now this is the fifth so it has 5.

Here's a new one:

I give up. I’ve been staring at this thing off and on all day. I just can’t dope it out. Anyone who figures this one out should start working on finishing the Unified Field Theory.

urrh... that is the only guesses i can make.... I don't know how helpful your hint is- "B"? that is all? foo that.

So you think it involves substituting the B's for vowels? I was trying eliminating the B's and reading forwards and backwards. But that doesn't work. I suspect that it also involves the X's, and possibly the N's.

OK—I officially concede. I’m going to get some sleep. I’ll see the answer in the morning. Then after breakfast, I’m going to go into work and tell my boss that I want to give up being a cashier and move back to the fry station.

Alright, I'll make the hint easier!

Check the only letters after 'B'.

Right you are! Proud I am! Another puzzle ready are you?

Indeed you are!:
Starting at 1 and counting up, what's the first number to contain the letter 'A'?

Well, it could be a trick question, since no number contains a letter. (Unless you’re considering the Roman numerical system). But I assume you mean the English spellings of the real integers 1 through infinity. None of the integers 1 through 100 contain an ‘A’ in their spelling. 101 is usually expressed as "one hundred and one," so I guess the answer is none or 101.

Yes, I'm referring to numbers and their spelling like "one", "two", "three", etc...

No, "and" doesn't count since "and" actually defines fractions and decimals. For instance, "3 1/2" is "three and one-half; "2.5" is "two and five-tenths".

Keep trying. :thumb:

You're right! :thumb:

Now, I'm gonna take a break from giving out puzzles. You got any for us?

You are picking socks out of a drawer in complete darkness. The socks are unfolded and randomly mixed up in the drawer. All the socks are either red or blue. What is the least number of socks you can pull out that will guarantee that you have a matching pair?

How many socks are there in the drawer to begin with?
