Meet the Fockers

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Millions of Americans went shopping for comedy this weekend, giving the star-studded ``Meet the Fockers'' the record for the best Christmas weekend opening ever.

I was one of these millions who ran to the nearest cinema to see the movie yesterday. It was open captioned so I was lucky.

Being a huge Stiller fan, I was excited to see it. I found the movie really hilarious but somewhat gross at moments. I felt that some jokes were overdone but in the end, I ended up with tons of laughter. Stiller was brilliant as usual. But I was very impressed with Streisand. She did her role brilliantly and it was good seeing her back in action. Not to mention Hoffman.

What I thought you all would find interesting was that one of the characters, De Niro, was teaching his grandson sign language. Most of the cast used sign language throughout the movie. It was really FUNNY!!!!!!!!

I was happy to see that ASL was exposed in the film because it will help the hearing folks to see that you don't have to be deaf to use ASL and that it is a good idea to teach hearing babies/toddlers ASL before they speak because it will aid in communication.

It was open-captioned? Perfect! I can expect to see the movie when I get back to New York! :thumb:

Whoaaaa, ASL in the movie?
Thanks for posting, Meg, I had no idea.
I will be sure to watch it!

Oh Goodness !
I'm gonna watch this movie soon...
Thanks for bringing this to my attention

Cool! Am gonna check to see which theatres will have open captioning for that movie...I saw the first one and it was hysterical, so I reckon this one will be as hysterical. :)

I already watched it on X-mas, it was soooo funny, and yeah they used ASL in it. I had to sit in front row because the theatre was all packed, so, when it come out in DVD, I will buy that movie and watch it for myself, for better viewing. I typically sit way way back in the room to watch the movie.

At first I tought that the lil boy was old dude's kid, so I had to ask my bro, he said no, its grandson, I was like oh!

I can't tell anything more, will need to watch it yourself, that why I don't want to spoil it.

That's so cool they use ASL in the movie..

Lately, I have been telling people how bad it'd be if one of the ladies in the Focker's side of the family is named "Martha"!

OoO I want to see that movie!!! I actually own the first movie ' Meet the Parents '

Sometime, I was confused between Ben Stiller and Adam Stander. They almost look like.

One word: Awesome!

We rented "Meet the Fockers" last night, and I have to say it was hilarious. I also was very impressed that they used ASL in the film. But, the funniest aspect of the movie was when the toddler spoke his first word, and it was a profanity. I have to admit that cracked me up! :giggle:

As luck would have it, "Meet the Parents" is on TV, and I'm watching it. I must say that I'm not as impressed with the first movie as I was it's sequel.

Done rented the movie yesterday and today I've watched Meet the fockers. Pretty quite funny hell lotsa.. Love it..
