Maple cookie recipe

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 cup real maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2Grease several cookie sheets.
3In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar; add egg, maple syrup and vanilla, mixing until well blended.
4Sift or whisk together flour, baking soda and salt; add this mixture to creamed mixture and stir until well blended.
5Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
6Place balls on cookie sheets about 2 inches apart and flatten slightly.
7Bake 8 to 10 minutes; remove and let cool on a wire rack.

I keep postponing to make maple cookies. WHY my husband isn't crazy about maple, and my kids have not try but if they dont like it then chocolate chip cookies is my back up. i have to bake both of them.. Which si why i keep postponing due to not enough time. the weekend is booked that i have plans, so wait until i get no plan and in a purrfect time then i will bake both cookies. :ugh3:

Seriously, i am looking forward to baking REAL maple ( SYRUP ) cookies.

do you have a real maple? my two girlfriends have maple trees. they gave me the two pint of maples. wootz! that is why i am very excited about using the real maple for cookies. :D

five gal....i did not know until i was in boston that maple syrup has different pressing like olive oil and the difference between virgin maple is different yummy,and makes you high.my brother put it on pumpkin pie that bloody awful

:wave:Maple syrup is graded based on the tapping. The first tapping of a tree produce the lightest colored and flavoured syrup. The last tapping of the tree produced the darkest and strongest flavoured syrup which is usually only used for baking.

Yes. Thats right. i do not have a maple tree at home. my two girlfriends do. Im lucky that they gave me free two of pints. one gal said its lighter syrup so i ll use that for waffles and panckaes. and the other one is darker that is what i want to bake for maple cookies. I want to do today so bad. my family and i have plans all day and tomorrow. dang! im sure it will happen right before feb or feb 14. eh..

i just found bottle of maple in fridge forgot it there,in mood for panckes,if get my sorry arse up i make them
 
The weather is supposed to be so bad here tomorrow, it is recommended to just stay in for the holiday.

I emailed the recipe to my husband. Maybe he will be so bored he will make them for us....
