when I was on my way to the cafeteria, there were too much people and I lost control of my wheelchair, then I accidentally hit that woman by her leg. She looked directly at my face and I told her that I was SORRY but she gave me an angry face and did this no-no face at me. then I told her AGAIN that I AM SORRY, but she didn't really understand what I was trying to tell her so she ignored me immediately ! I DON'T LIKE HIGH SCHOOL AND people can be cruel!

rjr, this woman obviously has problems in dealing with others. it wasn't as if you intended to run her over, you apologized, and if she can't accept your apology in a mature manner, that is her problem, not yours.

p.s. off topic...i have a friend who used to play for the patriots.

Don't worry about it. Some people are jerks.

Hang in there!

Hey, kiddo

You did your part. You apologized and everything.

She must be having a bad day....don't take it personally. We all know how great and nice guy you are :)

If she doesnt accept your apolozied then move on with your life. Cuz life is to short to be angry about.

 Don't worry rjr, sounds like this woman was too into herself to actually realize that it was an accident, and you didn't mean to do it. There are so many miserable people wherever you go.. Please don't let it effect you and just keep smiling!! You did the right thing, and you apologized. Who is the better person for it? :applause: YOU!!!!! Try to enjoy the rest of your day, it's too nice outside to let someone like that bring you down!!!! Take care my friend!! ;)

aww thats really sucks for her acceptance, she should have understood that you didnt really meant it.. oh well and yet, look at bright sides, you had been loved surrounded you. dont worry about her, shes prolly on pms.  :ily:

RJ

I concur with everybody here. It sounds like that woman just doesn't know how to deal, and that's on her.

As you may know, I am also in a wheelchair. I've also had my share of mishaps that I've had to apologize for. Most of the time, people accepted my apology. I still got "the look" now and then, but people usually knew an accident when they saw it. Occasionally, I came across some really snotty people, though. When I did, I just did my part with the apology and went on about my day.

People are gonna be jerks, my friend. You can't control that, but don't let them affect you. Smile, do your part, and then go on about your day. Let them deal with themselves. It'll save your sanity! :)

 RJ.. I hope your day gets better.

I know how you feel... once, when I was visiting my friend in Rochester- I got on the amtrak... and while I was hauling up my heavy carry on baggage onto that carrier space above the seat, I thought there was no one around me (checked myself) and then... while I was swingin' the bag, I hit a lady on the head.... I felt bad and told her I was sorry, but she sent me glares-- and the guy helping her gave me glares too. If looks could kill, they mastered that art. Couldn't do more beyond this except to read all the rest of the ride.
:dunno:

It was just an accident. Simple as that. It's just a pained reaction that people get mad, nothing more.. she'll forget about it, and I doubt that woman whom I hit over the head remembers me. It was about 6 years ago. It's only natural that you feel guilty, because you are a good person.. if you didn't feel bad, you wouldn't care.. but you care.

Hope this helps you feel better. :D You aint alone!

Liza is right...RJ isnt alone. I have my own share of such incidents. Yesterday while driving, a lady flipped her finger at me. I looked around and was wondering what I did wrong. :dunno: I decided to wave back at her and flashed her a huge  She got flustered and hit her gas pedal hard and zoomed past my car in a plume of smoke. :giggle:

rjr, you were a gentleman and you apologised for something that was an accident. Whether the lady accepts your apology or not, it is her issue, not yours. If I were you, I wouldn't put too much thought into this because you apologised and that itself should be more than enough. :)

Liza, I can relate with you about the squirming feeling. I elbowed a man on his head when I tried to put a backpack on the plane's overhead baggage and he most certainly wasn't polite towards me even though I was flustered & apologised to him.

There are certain people that can be overtly dramatic and carry on about such accidents that cannot be prevented.

Eh, but Liza...Just like I said to RJ above, you did your part. You apologized. Unfortunately, people are mean sprited and cruel. They also don't know any better. People who are hearing, and able bodied... They don't get it. They don't want to understand and accept that people with differences are just like they are, so they cop 'tudes and such. It's hurtful to us, but instead of letting that person get under our skin, we should hold our heads up high, and KNOW we're okay! It's them who need the atitude adjustments!

You did your part. Hold your head up high! :)

rjr2006, after all this it's a good thing you ran into her.

Oh boy,

I had my power wheelchair ran over their kid's feet, I says "Oops, I'm sorry I ran over your feet, and where's your parent?" the kid guided me over to apt in my same bldg.. and their mother is there, I explained to kid's mother, "Hello, I'm sorry about my power wheelchair ran over on your son's feet, you can take your kid to doctor to check up if you want, next time for safety and dangerous about power wheelchair can be ran and crushed on foot. keep distance within 3 feet away "Danger zone" around of my power wheelchair." I patted on kid's back. "You'll be okay, don't worry about your hurt feet". They didn't mad at me, they're good parent :)
