They wanted to look more family-friendly and something that's more like a sun instead of a smiley face.Banjo, I dunno why the Walmart logo was changed drastically. I have my suspicions, though. Perhaps Walmart doesn't want to be associated with the kind of identity that goes with the original logo - cheap, not environmentally friendly, labor issues..
I am surprised wacom changed its logo - it should have stayed with the old one. The new logo looks really cheap and a little outlandish. I own a wacom tablet so I know a bit about the branding.
