Honey,

You missed my point entirely - I am not talking about specific threads. I am talking about having respect for EVERYONE here at AllDeaf. I said "postwhore" to insert a little humor in the sentence - it did not mean those who have posted 2k, 3k, or whatever...it meant ALL MEMBERS here at AllDeaf.

There will always be people that do not respect others here, I know, because I have been through it before, and I think I got it worse in some threads than others have, and I know some people that REALLYy got beat up in other threads - why? Because some people DID NOT WANT to respect other peoples' opinions, comments or topics.

Bullymom, you are someone that I admire, because you have always been positive and upbeat, so your post surprised and disturbed me quite a bit... and I do not want to see a flame war start up here.

You have to understand, that, in every forum, no matter where, when, or how, there will always be people that want to start trouble for someone, just because he/she may not like that person and probably try to force that person to get upset and then start a war...which WILL tear a whole forum apart.

No, egoism does not play a part of this... it is being respectful of all opinions, comments and points made here at AllDeaf and recognizing that we all have the same basic rights here.

DreamDeaf's comment...

Simply put, we're allowed to make threads in what we want to say - of course, some are totally outta here and some are so whacko, but hey, we're a free forum... I did that one time when I got to 2K and I was pretty much satisfied with making that thread applauding myself - after all, it seemed important to me at that time and I'm sure the others have felt that way, also.

It doesn't hurt.

What hurts is when we're told it's a stupid thread, it has no business being here, close/lock this thread, it has no purpose here at AllDeaf...and so forth.

I know you've made threads before and I know some were important to you at that time - and I would not want to say to you, "Hey, that's a stupid thread, don't be such a postwhore." That would hurt your feelings and it would make me look like a jerk.

Some of those K threads had really nice dedications and I really enjoyed them, and I enjoyed myself making silly posts in those. I admit it, I enjoy being an AllDeaf postwhore.

Basically, we have the right to make threads the way we want them to be... no question about it. What we should not do is show disrespect or make the thread maker feel bad about it afterwards.

Does this help?
