Maybe he had another big issues for him to deal with. This gas leak just added to stresses. Happens to me when I had too many things going on at once and is very overwhelmed.
Tax deduction does not always help, if he got expenses way more than what he collects, thus there is no more tax writes off once the tax liablity becomes zero!
I understand that. But truly, if these kind of things upset him so much, maybe he is in the wrong business. Landlords know that repairs and expenses are part of the business--that's the breaks (including gas line breaks, he, he,--oops, excuse me ;) ).

Cheri, I´m glad everything goes smooth for you and your boys at last... *phew*

He he what?... ...I think I know what you were going to say! ;)

Sis, I'm glad to hear you're back in the house again....Looks like your landlord freak out for nothing really, so he must be smiling now knowing he didn't have to pay a penny on replacing the brand new drive-way afterall.......

What a dipshit that landlord was. He needs to be put in his place about minding his own manners or temper with tenants... are you sure that was not verbal abuse? Can the landlord/tenant law firm do anything about that?

I don't understand why he is a landlord when he cannot make his tenants happy? I put up with his Bs for four years, He's even my age and really handsome but bad attitude.

Thanks everyone! I'm really thrill to be back at home! But, I miss the sleep over at my dad's it had been a blast, He even took me out to Red Lobster and movies too, He even fixed the closed caption on his TV for me, I felt pamper for two days being over there. I enjoyed it. Heh!

Good to hear that you got everything back to normal. May I suggest you that you look elsewhere for better apartment. You could talk to current tenants to see if they got problems with the landlord. You could do that after your done with landlord and the landlord needs not to know that your planning to talk with his or her tenant(s). Also, other way to tell if landlord is treating tenant by looking how many vacancies. The more vacancies the apartment is, the chance something is wrong. Also, it is good idea to look for another apartment AHEAD of time because once you find a apartment you like and it happens to be full, you have time to catch that unit or negiotate with landlords. The more time you invest in apartment search the better chance that you'd land on better unit, and landlord.

If your current landlord ask you for reference. Just be blunt with him after you move out that you will give him 100% honest reference, and not planning to leave out any negatives. I think he will get the message afterwards.

Oh Yeah there are other tenants that had problems with him also, That's why they don't stay there longer, Most of them move out within months or a year. I'm the only one who's stupid enough to stay around. I just wanted to live closer to my sisters and that house was all I could afford, Most houses are like 600.00 and up, I cannot afford that not on my income, that's why It had been harder for me to find somewhere else that would fit my budget. I really don't like living in apartments, I like living in a house that's where I am living right now a house with two bedrooms. My landlord owns 18 homes as I was told from him. I am not going to say anything bad about him but I hope he put in some good words for me If I plan on moving elsewhere. ;)

No, Cheri! your NOT that stupid. Moving can be pain in the rear and I DO hate moving! Its just too much at once. I understand what your mean about budget that is why it is so important to give yourself more time in huntin for better place. Depending on your income, and credit sometimes its cheaper to buy house than to rent! I bought house with mortgage that is far less than what average apartment rent is! I can NOT afford losing my house. Way too cheap to live here than elsewhere. If buying a house is in your thoughts, I recommend you to take ENOUGH time to shopping. The longer you shop around the better deal you will land. It happened to me and I am thankful that I did! Friend of mine bought house outright in 3 days, guess what? His house got foreclosured! So rush isn't worth.
If you want any advice or discuss, feel free to do so.
BTW, I got kids and I know what it is like!

I dunno about buying a house, the thought of it scares me because that's a big responsible, which meaning if something breaks down I would have to hire someone to do repairs which I cannot afford, and there are times property taxes goes up, I wouldn't be prepare for any surprises that might throw in front of me. I like renting because If something needs repairing I know the landlord would do it, and I wouldn't have to pay no property taxes or water/sewer. Does that make sense? Heh! ;)

Of course, howver you actually paid full rate of property taxes and that includes the rent. It is one of hidden fees that most renter don't know about. Whenever the taxes goes up, the rent will definetly go up anyway.
I understand your fears. But the truth is, in the long run it is ALOT cheaper to own house than to rent. Furnace don't break down often. Maybe once in 20 years, roof last about 20 years, hot water heaters last about 5 years and cost around 300 bux. Depending on the condition of the house. Some house don't require TLC while others do.
Two of BIGGEST advantage owning house and first one, most importantly after 30 years (some 15, 20 years) on mortgage you pay just utlity and property taxes and THAT IS IT! That is ALOT cheaper than continue renting til you die. My parents, they are in retirement and they get property taxes break, their house is paid off. They pay less than 1/5 of what average of rent is! About 250 dollars a month for whole house, including yard and everything. Can you complain? My dad told me he couldn't image moving to an apartment for 800 dollars a month plus electric. Second biggest advantage is security You get homeowner insurance which generally covers everything, including identity thieve coverage. Renters, if they don't buy renters insurance don't get nothing if anything goes wrong with the apartment.

I can NOT recommend anything at this time, but if you shop and compare and talk with people you will be surprise.
