because they full well know they are abusing this woman and not giving her some room to breathe for chrissakes she is suffering plus the homeless hoodlums are out back ready to welcome her. If the homeowner's association was truly concerned then there would be no homeless hoodlums hanging around and she would be given the right of the way for a good reason. Now I know more and more about homeowner's association. The more I hate them and have heard enough horror stories from the homeowner's association and they can be cold heartless bastards with not an ounce of commonsense !!!!!!! so I got her back.prostock19 said:It's not the landlord. It's the homeowners association. I hate them. Some places, if you buy a house, you have to live by their rules. I would NEVER buy a house where there is a homeowners association.

That is the approach I would prefer. The condo association and property manager should take steps to make the back alley entrance safer, cleaner, well-lit, and convenient to use. If the association forces residents to use the back entrance, then they should be responsible for maintaining it in good, safe condition. That lady pays her dues and deserves good service.Heath said:... I HATE them, because they are allowed to tell me how to renovate, or remodel my own friggin space! NO WAY! I do NOT want anybody telling me what to do with my own property. What happened to the Great American Dream?

One guy told me that one morning, when I started my truck (parked about a block from his window), it woke him. I refuse to believe it because it was quite cold outside and he wouldn't have had his window open. Another time I was home, I was tipped off the the police were called. Yep, these people actually did it! When my oldest brother and I were moving our parents and the rest of the family helping, one of the board members complained that one tire of the moving truck was touching the grass.
As for any fixups one does...the inside is yours. If you want to paint it purple with pink pokadots, you can and no one can say anything. But, my dad had a small garden across the street on city-owned land and people complained about that, too.
Would I ever live in a townhouse (to own it) or condo...absolutely not! Plus, my dad (he's 82 now) would be out shoveling the sidewalk after snow. I shoveled in front of the garage door way before the plow came through, too. The association dues were ridiculous, too.
