Kidney stone

Oh interesting, I went to ER because I don't know about how severe pain is bad, it could be serious condition so decided to see ER to get exam and found stone that's goes in ureter so now, I know about how pain looks like that.

I don't know that pain from kidney stone is just like give a birth since I'm not woman but very interesting to compare with pain.

Kidney stones can be both men and women. Some men got kidney stoned by drinking heavily on alcohol and have poor diet and nutrition. It can affect to the liver.

You found it out coming from ureter stone. I hope you take it easy.

When I had the stones, man.. felt like I was giving birth!

The pain was bad to the point I gagged and heaved.

The doctors had me do a food diary and turned out the culprit was dairy products and pop. Drinking lots of water will reduce the possibility of kidney stones but once you have had kidney stones, you will have them. You just need to control the severity of having kidney stones.

Gagging and heaving is pretty good. I woofed like a dog, lol.
But honestly, I hope I never go through the kidney stone attack again. I had it a few times so I can empathize. The last time was a doozy, though. Kidney stones almost killed me. No kidding.
So I hope to Gawd I never get them again.

I have updated about went to see urologist again on yesterday to have x-ray and they are very confused if stone is still moving or not so they believe it has been passed out already so I don't have any much discomfort anymore, minus discomfort in penis but it went away in few hours.

Also, urine test is all cleared up but used to had bad in last week.

There's updated but very bad news, I have belly button and penis pain at workplace so I went to restroom and I was like speechless after saw blood urine with very darker yellow so I just feel like crap and don't want focus on work but rather to worry about situation with bladder so left so earlier.

I wish that urologist will use CT scam instead of x-ray because easier to detect it.

:Ohno: That's not good to know, Foxrac.

You need to go to the E.R now.

If you have both belly button and penis pain, this means your kidney stone is too large to pass from your urethra. This is why your belly button hurts as the belly button is attached to the urethra - the tip of your penis.

I really encourage you to go to the E.R as soon as you can.

When you bleed dark urine, bloody urine, this means your urethra has been scraped raw and/or your prostate is inflamed. This is not very good.

See if you can have your kidney stone broken down in smaller pieces using ultrasounds and if this does not work- heavy shocks shatters the kidney stones into tiny pieces. Passing them will be much easier and a lot less painful.

Sending you positive healing thoughts, Foxrac. I know the pain as I have had this before.

It is painful but for a man and his tiny urethra... :eek3:

I went to made appointment to see urologist but pretty quick to get appt at morning and got in, I had took CT Scan, finally about urologist said x-ray won't show stone on some patients so my doctor found that I still have stone and got information about operation tomorrow at 10:30 am to make break in pieces, however my doctor want do operation today but he changed his mind because I drank water in last hour so operation require no food or drink in 8 hours before start.

Right now, I have take strong painkiller and I still have work tonight but just one day to left so I will be in christmas break, that's pretty unfortunately about have operation that closer to christmas, I will have christmas party at my work but only problem about hospital said don't eat or drink in 8 hours before surgery, recommended to stop at 12 am.

I'm kinda nervous right now and would better to take stone down to wipe all terrible pain off that I had experienced.

Thanks for kept me in your thought.

Ive had that operation. Pretty easy to do. They didn't do my last stone because it was under my ribs and they didnt want to blow up my ribs.

Its 30 minutes in and out operation. maybe even 5 the way they do it.
You will be out within 3-4hours. no cuts are made.

 You are definitely in my thoughts because I cannot imagine the pain you are going through.

I am glad you have painkillers because that will help you.

Please rest well and remember you cannot do heavy lifting for a while because it will affect your back, pelvis and your penis.

Hang in there!

Big hugs!

Dang, Foxrac, get rid of those stones! Two years ago they tore apart my urinary tube and I filled with piss and puss. They drew out 9,000 cc's of it, and my weight dropped from 200 to 150 in a month. It can be a bitch.

That was what I was worried about.

Yup, you are right about cannot heavy lifting, I was work so hard until around after break so end up to got belly button pain so I would let my boss know since my boss is very nice and understand about my situation.

Painkiller med is called Percocet, that's best painkiller med with comfortable side effect, I'm really hate Lotab due too much side effect and got constipated so I have eat high fiber to avoid it so I'm really hate to take laxative due make more uncomfortable so high fiber and alot of water does help.

For ER, I had been thought about it but concern about limitation of Medicaid so I decided to see specialist that referred from ER, however I will go to ER if occur in weekend when many doctor office closes. I'm glad that Medicaid approved the operation so I have pay alittle or nothing.

Good to know you have Percocet as it is a strong painkiller. I can relate with you about strong painkillers causing constipation. It is rough when you feel like you're giving birth to a huge poop! Pheeww! :giggle:

I am glad Medicaid will be covering this operation so you don't have to worry about expenses.

Hang in there!

so today is Foxrac's operation........ good luck and I pray for speedy recovery! :grouphug:

looks like Foxrac is well and kicking! :thumb:

I'm done with operation to remove the kidney stone by laser, there's story about surgery day, I went to hospital at 9 am and wait for surgery at 10:30 am so I found out that Medicaid approved rest of surgery with $3 copay, I was so nervous when have surgery day as always, I just in waiting room until nurse called and want have all clothes removed, even underwear but keep sock on, wait for nurse to ask questions about what last time when eat, ask for DOB, name, information and instruction to put IV injection, it was so string and it has numb to get injection in, there's 2 different IV is antibiotic to prevent infection and sedating to numb my back and make sleepy like nap. I found out that surgery is different but mixed of awake and nap instead of completely anesthesia, when interpreter came in and meet so chat for while before my doctor call to ready for surgery so nurse pushed my bed to surgery room so I was very nervous to see big x-ray on top with dog training pad, others are just blanket and pillow, they have shot in my back, in spinal cord to numb the body that below than belly button so I can't feel everything, more feel to being paralyzed and it was operation during awake and nap in mixed, after that and my interpreter told me to calm and nap, it was very painful, I don't know about they don't use completely anesthesia to sleep before operation start so it is my first time to have surgery with awake and nap at same time, after that so brought to wake room, yes, I was still awake when bring to wake room and my body is completely numb, impossible to move and feel alot of pain in my bladder and kidney after doctor took stone out so put in tube and show me about kidney stone, I was whoa and looks nasty.

I was extreme uncomfortable for couple of hours after surgery, I'm trying to exercise my body to get away from numb so no luck so I was encouraged to take nap for 1 hour or little more so numb is start goes away, even there's nasty pain in bladder and kidney so it went away in 1 hour after took meds. I have nausea so my relative took garbage bin and point at my mouth so they called nurse to put med via IV to stop nausea and painkiller med in my butt. After I got out of numb and pains are getting less so I got pee burning with orange due med made change in urine color, for my experience, pee burning is painful but more tolerate than childhood, I had 2 pee burning during childhood after surgery and it was too way painful and made refused to pee out. After that, I'm ready to go home and got information from my doctor about how take care of my body.

I'm little sleepy but not insane sleepy that I had elbow surgery in 2006.

It was pretty fast surgery that I had seen with kidney stone.

Now, I don't have belly button pain anymore and feel much better now.

Thanks for wishes me good luck with surgery.
