Thanks for asking about my stepdad - He is doing ok. Doctors were not able to remove all of his cancer so he will undergo radiation. It is still uncertain at this moment about his odds of beating it or not. :ily:

:lol: It's okay. It's probably not the only time I fell out of my car. I fell out of another car once. I don't remember exactly when though. ;)

She was just a desperate single mother who didn't know what she was doing when she kidnapped me. There are mothers out there like that. They don't think about their actions, just do whatever they feel is right... just because they are family.

When I was found, she was arrested and put in jail. I think she was let out because she was pregnant with my sister. I don't really remember the details behind her arrest and her time in jail. :dunno:

I am happy to have the adopted parents I have now. However, there are a few minor regrets... the fact that they are just too damn religous! Heh!

Actually, she knew what she was doing. She just didn't feel like doing her job. She was still a kid when I became deaf.

The medication issue was not because she couldn't afford it, she just stopped giving it to me instead of finishing it all. It's like having a bottle of 24 pills. The doctor orders you to keep giving your kid every pill at the right time until you run out of all 24. After running out of all 24, you are to bring your kid back to the doctor. Instead, you give your kid 16 pills and he seems to be getting better. Since he seems to be getting better, you think he doens't need the pills any more... so you stop giving him more pills. You then decide to go out and have fun with your friends and leave your kid at home. Uh oh... the illness rebounds and hits your kid worse than before. Gee... don't you wish you had followed your doctor's orders? That's the mistake my real mom made.

As for me going to see her again, it's like I said... it's not on my mind at the moment. Maybe, someday... I will have a sympathetic moment and decide to go see her. Right now, I just rather focus on my own things right now.

Yes, she was charged with kidnapping. She also violated orders given by the child support services. However, I think she got lucky because she was pregnant with my sister so they couldn't do much for her. Today, she still has her 2nd and 3rd kid. I guess she learned her lesson from me and didn't make that mistake again. ;)

I did see her at a funeral a number of years ago but aside from that, I have no desire to have any contact with her. You will find this with many adoptees...some want to seek out birth parents and others do not. I wouldn't fault Vampy for not wanting to seek her out, especially if he was raised by wonderful adoptive parents. Those are his parents, and that is fine.

Yes, that's true. My sisters and brother are adopted as well. My brother did keep in touch with his real aunt and uncle. My sisters never saw any of their relatives. They are all over the age of 18 and free to do as they wish. Yet, they don't bother searching. ;)

We all do stupid things while growing up.

In fact, I think I remember you mentioning this story a couple of times in high school. ;)

Btw, I'm happy reunion my birth-mom and long talk w/her.. Im very open minded and understanding why she gave me up and adoption. She gave me lot of details that her reason was too young have me being 17 yrs old and no job and no place suitable for new start up family.. She has no choice and best interest for me to placed adoption but she didn't know that My adoption was hell.. The CAS put my mom *closure Adoption* She didn't ask for closure adoption.. but too late went too quick court processing sealed! No wonder why My birth mom really heart wretching for longest years and thinking of me and hope could meet each other.. She got another 2 child now... I have 1 brother and 1 sister. My birth mom already spoke truth to my sister that said "you have another sister" My sister was excited and right away searched for me on internet within 5 minutes found me.... Contacted to Canadian Adoption Registry... then contact me... *QUICK* That how I met my birth mom and sister were reunion from Sept 2003

I hope you (Vampy) one day you could try and chance to meet your mom.. To get know more about your birth mom.. Would be great for step at time.. no need to be rush!

She didn't give me up. She lost me due to not taking care of me properly. While I was in foster care, she had the opportunity to get me back. The judge told her that she either get a job and fix herself up... or she won't get me back. She never did, so she never got me back. ;)

Now that I am over 18 years of age, I have every right to go search for her. The problem is, I just don't feel like it. I've got other things to focus on. That's all.

I don't think that it impacted my life much or any. It wasn't a traumatic experience for me. I was still an innocent kid who knew nothing about what was going on. If it was traumatic for me, then it might have affected my life then. ;)

Thats not a kidnapping.Go to iraq,,,Help that country and youll see what kidnapping is about when al queda nabs you and put you on al jazzeria TV,Then they will behead you. Now thats a scary kidnapping.
