That depends. If she is allowed to heal and gets the proper amount of care, she could do very well. There will be scars for sure, but that doesn't mean she will be emotionally crippled by this. It's really too early to tell how she's gonna fare, though.
 
I was totally shocked that she was found alive and I'm also so shocked that he's the father of her two girls because the thoughts of him having sex with her makes me ill, it makes me wanna hit him with a baseball bat. :mad2:
 
The two children.. also have been traumatized.

I do hope they all get the help they need. I am not only thinking of the one that was kidnapped.. but the two babies she had too.

I can not even imagine how rough it may be for them.

Phillip Garrido and his wife, Nancy, met while he was in a federal prison serving time for abducting a different woman from South Lake Tahoe, California, and holding her captive in a storage unit, Nevada probation and parole officials said Friday.

Details of Phillip Garrido's past began to emerge after he and his wife were charged with crimes relating to the abduction of 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991 and her captivity in a hidden shed-and-tent compound in the couple's backyard in Antioch, California. Phillip Garrido, 58, and Nancy Garrido, 54, face 29 felony charges relating to Dugard's kidnapping. They both pleaded not guilty.

Garrido's record as a registered sex offender began with a 1977 conviction on charges of kidnapping and rape of a South Lake Tahoe woman, the Nevada Department of Public Safety's Division of Parole and Probation said in a press release.

The victim was found with Garrido inside a mini warehouse, a type of small storage facility, in Reno. Nevada, according to court documents from Garrido's appeal. She was raped inside the storage unit, according to the documents.

The woman, a 25-year-old casino worker, picked up Garrido at a supermarket near Lake Tahoe on Nov. 22, 1976, after he asked her for a ride. The documents state that when she stopped the car to drop him off, Garrido handcuffed her, bound her legs and neck with a leather strap, and drove off with her to Reno.

Garrido, then 25, "told the victim it wasn't intentional that he had taken her, but that it was her fault because she was attractive," according to the documents.

Garrido served 11 years of a 50-year sentence in Levenworth, Kansas.

Parole officials said he met his wife, Nancy, while he was in prison, but they didn't give details.

Garrido's life began to spiral downward in high school, his father, Manuel Garrido, told CNN.

"He had a motorcycle accident and got on LSD and he's not in his right mind," Manuel Garrido said. "He was in a bad accident and hit his head and then got on LSD in high school. That was the end. He went to selling dope. He went crazy."

Though he hasn't spoken to his son for 20 years because they "didn't get along" and has never been to the home where his son is accused of holding Dugard, Manuel Garrido said he wasn't surprised to hear about accusations.

"I wasn't surprised because I know he's out of his head for God's sakes," he said. "He was an angel when he was young and it's a damn shame."

Phillip Garrido's father also said his son believes "he talks to God and he can do things."

And Garrido apparently maintained a blog where he discussed talking to God and also claimed he could control sound with his mind.

The blog now has profanity-laced responses from people outraged over Phillip Garrido's alleged actions.

Garrido's blog entries are posted by "THEMANWHOSPOKEWITHHISMIND." He refers to "God's Desire," which is a church based out of his home in Antioch, according to CNN affiliate KCRA of Sacramento.

In a post on August 14, he writes that during a "powerful demonstration" in July in Pittsburg, California, "the Creator has given me the ability to speak in the tongue of angels in order to provide a wake-up call that will in time include the salvation of the entire world."

"You too can witness what the world believe's [sic] is impossible to produce!" he writes, providing an e-mail address. "DON'T MISS OUT!"

Several news outlets, including The New York Times, have reported on the blog since the case started making international headlines Thursday.

In another blog posting last year, Garrido claims to have a "new insight that has the potential of helping people who hear voices to possibly stop and re-examine their thinking before committing a violent act on themselves and/or others."

It was a mother's intuition that finally rescued Jaycee Lee Dugard from the clutches of Phillip Garrido.

Kidnapped by Garrido and his wife, Nancy, in 1991 from the bus stop in front of her South Lake Tahoe home, Jaycee, now 29, lived, along with the two children she bore her rapist, in lean-tos and tents behind his Antioch, Calif., house for 18 years.

Jaycee's fate finally changed on Monday, Aug. 24, when a University of California, Berkeley, female cop grew suspicious of Garrido after he came to campus with the two daughters, aged 15 and 11, looking for an event permit to distribute religious flyers.

"He was clearly unstable," Lisa Campbell, 40, the UC Berkeley manager of special events said at a press conference late Friday. And her mother mode went into gear when she watched Jaycee's 15-year-old stare "straight up in the air."

Campbell stalled Garrido, and asked him to return on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Meantime, she went to fellow UCBPD officer Ally Jacobs, 33, who ran a background check on Garrido and discovered he was a sex offender.


Garrido Returns
When Garrido returned to campus with his two daughters on Tuesday, Jacobs and Campbell were both there. "I'm a mother, so police mode turned into mother mode," says Jacobs, whose gut feeling told her something was wrong with the girls.

According to Jacobs, both daughters were robotic, extremely pale to the point of being almost gray, and with non-responsive bright blue eyes.

Garrido confessed to the officers that his "life had changed" and that he was "on parole for a rape and kidnapping that happened 33 years ago." As Jacobs watched, the girls "sat there with no emotion."

When Jacobs asked the 11-year-old about a bump above her eye, "She said 'It was a birth defect. Inoperable. Have it the rest of my life,' and never stopped smiling," recalls Jacobs.


Parole Officer Called
Jacobs tried to think of a way to hold Garrido to keep him from taking the girls home, but couldn't do anything legally. Instead, she and Campbell called Garrido's parole officer at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

When Jacobs told the parole officer she was concerned about Garrido's two daughters, there was a pause on the phone line: "He doesn't have any daughters," the parole officer responded.

On Wednesday, Aug. 26, Garrido brought his wife, Jaycee (whom he called Allisa) and their two daughters into the parole officer's office, where he finally admitted he had kidnapped Dugard and that the girls were his. Garrido was then taken into custody along with his wife, Nancy.

Jacobs and Campbell were not aware of the outcome of their deed until they saw the news. "I couldn't believe it," said Jacobs. "I'm glad the horrible ordeal is over … but there's a long road ahead."

Please dont blame sex offender who kidnapped little girl for 18 years.. Calif and Nev system had fail. Parole officers dont check out on him everyday..

For instance: Supreme Court deported immigrants who are sex offenders to their countries after they broke US law and arrested them. They will come back here again to chasing minors. You should blame people, Parole office and State's system instead of accurse sex offenders. Because People and Officers are still asleepy when sex offenders running and chasing minors around. I have many words to tell you but not right now..

We can blame the perp and the system. They are both at fault. That creep should have stayed behind bars for his full sentence.

Once system is corruption. the Corruption makes people and police officers asleep. Police Officers are very lazy and collect your taxes.
 
Yeah he's a creep, he may not have abused his daughters, he did kidnap the then-girl, which is a felony. At least we don't hear about this often as in other crazy developing countries.

He served time for kidnapping and rape. He's a suspect in other cases. We know that he kidnapped and raped Jaycee. He kept the three girls prisoners for years. In my book, that's a creep.

We still don't know for a fact that he didn't molest or rape his daughters. They haven't yet told their stories.

I do respect your feeling express about him. i really have no problem with. whats about polices? they are worst creep, too, did you know that? like obama said polices are ridiculous, Ahh, he was right!

Yes immigrants came and move here for better life and job. but somehow they fall in their bad habitual chase minors for rape, kidnap; or consent sex. they broke US law. Police arrested them and throw into jail for court's hearing. Then the court deported them back their countries where they came from after 6 mths. the court wont lock them up in prison for good. but to citizen people who broke law for kidnap or rape, consent sex. therefore court locked them up prison for 10 to 30 years, depend on individual cases.

sex offenders of Emigrant who will come back here and chase minors again after deported them to countries.

Reba, I really understanding that he kidnapped and raped teen and subteen girls. Yes, He is half creep. but he did not murdered them and let them stay survivable. but i could be wrong. mm He did not locked his own daughters in their room or something. he always took his kids with him anywhere.. ::*scratch head*:: screaming *help me* to try understanding this case's situation since parole officers and polices are friggin corruptions and twist their stories make people believe against Phillip g. Police and Parole Officers are fault, they neglected system and sex offenders for years.

Law enforcements, authorities and other officers wont serve and protect you and people from criminals.

We don't know yet if he killed anyone. The police suspect that he may have killed some girls or women. Don't know yet.

He might not have physically killed Jaycee and her daughters but he certainly tried to kill their spirits.

I'm curious about something else. In theory, since he continually raped Jaycee over many years, she might have been pregnant more than twice. Maybe she also gave birth to some boy babies. Maybe the creep didn't want any boy competition (in his sick mind), so "got rid of them." :hmm:

I hope that there will be some hard and deep investigating of the various agencies and individuals who dropped the ball on this case.

Regardless of the failure of the law agencies, that nasty creep is still 100% responsible for his actions. He has no excuse for what he did, and there is no mitigation of his actions.

two weeks ago, One woman live in Sacramento complaint to police that th lwed man who annoyed and selling her young girl for XXX movies and others he offered. Law enforcement told her, there is nothing i can do with him. She ended up to destroy lwed's car, because she felt police dont protect nor help.And GUESS WHAT?! now police charged her for destroy their properly.. Wow, MORE AND MORE law enforcement don't care their concerns.

Girrado is not "special" to me. I know there are many other sexual predators and victims. This thread is about what Girrado did, so that's the topic we're discussing here. Personally, I don't even like to think about the perve. Ugh.

Jaycee and her daughters are the special ones. They survived many years of torture and captivity.

1) Yes this thread is about him. I respect that. if people wanted to talk about girrado & accurse him instead of parole officers, Law enforcements, authorities and other officers are failed system to protect people and childern from criminals such as kidnappers, sex offenders, and others. :|

2) Yes, You should thank him let them are still survived for 18 years. You said He torture them. But Kidnaped Jaycee Lee Dugard still feel more bond with him and still feel for him. it seems me that he treat her and her kids very well.. Like newspaper or TV news said they are sooo healthly, no signs of torture nor abuse by their memories. isnot that ODD story? :whistle:
