Just checking in.....

I hope you are feeling better RR! I'm curious, I would be bored out of my mind if I had to rest more than a couple of days. How do you pass the time?

Wirelessly posted (droid)

Hope your recovering well and not hurting. Sending healing vibes your way.

Glad you're on the road to recovery! Take care of yourself...

Glad you are home Robin, I wondered why you hadn't been around. Sounds like they have you on a full antibiotic regiment, I hope it has you feeling much better asap! :)

Thks, Journey!....And yes they did, a full regiment of antibotics. I was so tired of being picked and probed and all that...very frustrating...but today, I'm feeling real good! (As my doctor said I would in a few days)!

Wow! I'm glad the docs found the right anitbiotic. Hope you get all well very, very soon!

:ty:...and you bet! (finding the right antibotic)....was suspected I had MRSA...

But anyhow, I'm feeling pretty good! Some pain, yes, but tolerable and those damn pain pills make so so "loopy"...I'd rather just tolerate a little pain so at least I can function more normally....

:giggle:....I was in the Neuroscience Wing...that's usually for spinal cord, strokes, brain injuries, etc.....So there was not 1 patient who could get out of bed and do some walking...

Fortunately, I could, and did so to avoid any blood clots in my legs. So I did a lot of walking and "peeking" at other patients and saying "hello"....I just walked around with my IV drip pole! And the treatment lasted 2 hours, twice a day...

Nurses and doctors got "angry" at me...so I had to inform them before going for a walk down the Halls....jeez!..

As for TV, lots of times I was too looped up to be able to read the captions, even when I had the TV right in front of my face.....reading magazines was out too until the meds slowed down....

Seems all the hospital guards knew me "on sight"...haha...walking down the halls....I also spent much time in the Chapel, which meant a lot to me and gave me strength!

Crossword puzzles helped too....visitors (family and friends) and even "surprise" visitors helped so much.

Well, I don't want to go back and don't wish this on anyone!....I'm home now and it's fantastic! No place like "HOME".

welcome back robin.. i know ya will be tired but will have time to get well and recover and bounce back to chirping like a robin in no time eh!

YAY! Fixed at last? Better get a laptop so you can keep up with your internet world. I know your boys are helping you, but you will be getting a steady diet of boy-food. Think pizza, burgers, etc

:ty: Buddy!...As for the "boy food" 3 of my nice pots were burned almost up!...When I asked..."what the hell happened to my Pots?"...nobody knows anything...then they say..."well, we tried as much as we could."...which melted my old heart....(but secretly thanking the man upstairs the house did not burn down). ....guessing Ramen Noodles was their dinner of the day most times....

Maybe a laptop after Xmas...dunno...I would have not been able to talk to you guys much in the hospital tho'!...(hands and arms so sore from the IV's)...but glad to be back....

How do you burn pots boiling water for Ramen? :hmm:

Kids manage. My older daughter once set the kitchen afire while making a simple stir fry.

My friend passed out from too many drinks with a "boil in the bag" gravy pouch on the stove. All the water boiled dry, and then the pouch began to burn up. His smoke alarms woke him up. :ugh:

It's their "secret" and not for me to know (haha)...or who did what....it was a big pot...so they might have been trying to cook a roast or something, I dunno really....Haven't had a chance to really look around the house to see what's been going on yet....but I'm sure they had a good time without me being there!..Even tho' they missed me! And glad I'm back to the cooking, at least.

I have done it..one time was because I was paying too much attention on AllDeaf and forgot I was cooking Ramen soup. All the water had been burned up. lol

I was boiling a pot of potatoes and went next door for a while. When I returned, the wall and ceiling were black from soot. Good grief, the potato is so destructive!

....I'm finally out of the hospital but not out of the woods yet!...Feeling much better tho'...and was thinking of AD....Infection settled in and after so many cultures, they finally found the right antibotic to fight it...seems I had a bacterial infection that would not respond to anything!...But after 10 days in the hospital, I finally came home....loaded with more meds...and an IV drip...plus a PICII implant in my arm....

Feeling sort of "loopy" tonight!...So can't type much more...but hopefully I'll be back to AD in a few more days....Seems my hair turned almost white in several days! HAHA...

Will be back later...got lots of reading to update myself as to what has been going on....

Glad you are at least home and on the road to recovery. Take it easy until you are 100%. We will be happy to see you when you get back and are feeling yourself again.

Robin, we were both in the hospital! Oh no! So sorry that you were ill with the infection. I am very happy that you have had the correct medicine now.
Mine was only gallbladder. I am getting better every day. Hope you will join me in a good recovery.
Lucky me, my husband can cook. He has made me vegetable soup, spaghetti and caldo de res (beef soup) this week.
Think I have to go to work in the morning though. Booo. I really don't know if I can but must try.

Glad you're recovering too but surgery at 430 am in the morning is not a civilized hour for it. :P

Oh, gallbladder attacks are horrendoously painful! "Only" gallbladder...you must have a huge tolerance for illness.:giggle: I thought I was having a heart attack when mine would hit. I eventually had it removed. Each attack lasted longer and took more of a toll on me physically.
