NEW YORK - Academy Award-winning actress Tatum O’Neal has been arrested after buying crack cocaine near her home in Manhattan, police say.

Police said the 44-year-old actress was seen making the illicit purchase at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. She is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

O’Neal, daughter of actor Ryan O’Neal, appears regularly on the cable television series “Rescue Me” and was the youngest person to win an Oscar for her role in 1973’s “Paper Moon.”

She chronicled her struggles with addiction in her memoir, “A Paper Life.”

Police could not say whether she had an attorney. Messages left for a publicist were not returned early Monday.

oh jeez... it almost always happen to wealthy people.. even the ones that is struggling.....
since the wealthy are so bored. they have everything.. they travel all the time.. so they just do drugs to kill time... sad.. sad...
 
Oh my dear... again!!!

I know her childhood was not happy one... She was addict to kind of drugs during her teenage time... then again after marriage and then divorce... with 3 children... She quitted her drugs after divorce to consider her children... now again? I guess her children could be adults now...

Just like her father's girlfriend, Farrah Fawcett.... but, sadly I heard that Farrah Fawcett got her breasts cancer -- don't know if, it is true or not.

It's sad to see Tatum O'Neal got arrested w/out bail. I think it is high time for her to learn a lesson. Fame and wealthy are not doing any good. It don't buy happiness.

I am glad that I don't live in Hollywood!

Yes, it's true that Farrah got cancer but we don't know it's breast. She went to Germany for cancer treatment.

Tatum's father was a bad father to her and her brother.

really tatum's father is bad to family i thought he is good man but i surprise father bad to her and brother.....shock !!!!!!!!

Yes, he beat his own son a lot... He did broke his son's front teeth when he was a teenager... He almost shot his own son last year...

I never like Ryan. His image is really bad in despite of his height of fame and wealth. His image is bad enough to influence on his sons to become like him. Violent and abuse is a sign of " help " that Ryan should see psychiatrist. Sadly, that Ryan refused to seek for help.

Some day, Ryan will pay high price for violent and abuses. I wouldn't be surprised if, he did..... that " karma " is going after him and his soul will never be in peace.

It would appear so, and I must say I'm not surprised. Drugs like crack and heroin are very hard to kick.

What a waste!

I'm not sure about that. It's a He said, She said thing. The family sounds really dysfunctional, though, so I really don't know what to believe. As of now, I don't really put a lot of stock in what Tatum has to say.

yes very hard to believe it all magzine make money but some true or not very hard to believe it... but i remember liebling say he almost shot his son right iheard from newspaper ... ok

No, it's not just Tatum but her siblings including 2 wives as well. We know since I was teenager what kind of reputation Ryan have and never like him. He is really horrible father and husband...

Yes, Ryan is the one who need a professional help but he refused to see it... Look at his image how to expose his children become like him which is really sad.
