Jeep gone

It's a little distracting watching a guy with a big hole in his jeans crotch. :giggle:

I didn't even notice! What ya doing look there in first place? :giggle:

How many people can carry a full-size hammer and scissors that are accessible to the driver, and yet not be a hazard in an accident? The dinky glove box (shrunk down by the airbag) barely holds the Jeep's paperwork and a flashlight.

not the full-size hammer. There's half-size version :giggle: because it has some weight on its end. Life Hammer is basically as light as a pencil.

and you can use childproof scissor. or EMT scissor. those kinds do not have pointy ends.

It's interesting that someone's thread about their new car can turn into a fight about the accessories. :hmm:

... - well we use Life Hammer to get out from inside, not to get in :giggle:
In that video, it appeared to be a fireman demonstrating how to rescue other people using the Life Hammer.

Wouldn't you also use it to rescue other people, too?

We carry fire extinguishers in all our vehicles. Hubby used his once to put out an engine fire for a car in the bank parking lot. The other driver was fanning the flames with a towel.

Sometimes we have to help other people.

I know from experience that it doesn't require something large like a hammer to break window glass. :)

if I were a fireman, I'd be using an ax

yea true. It puzzles me sometimes that even police officers have hard time breaking window with their batons but then.... the baton is for subduing people (meaning - it flexes), not breaking window.

my 2 hammers. the handle of my small hammer can be unscrewed. It has screwdriver and philips inside. these can be unscrewed again for a smaller version... just like Matryoshka doll :giggle:

Would that small hammer break your car window?

It's a fireman demonstrating it; that doesn't mean they use it. They're showing civilians what to do. Besides, why use an ax if something else will work?

I think it's the pointed end on the Life Hammer that makes it better than a police baton.

It's the small objects that can break car windows, just like little stones bouncing up on the highway that crack windshields. But when prisoners inside police cars try to kick their way out, it very rarely breaks the glass. It's the concentrated energy that seems to do it.

Remember how my side window broke? It was just like the pictures in the video, except smashing inward. One tiny stone sent all that glass flying in on me.

I'm pretty sure. Wonder where can I demonstrate it
Our mechanic also has a junk yard. We're going to see if he will let us use one of his junked cars for testing.

Just so people know: a flat head screwdriver can silently shatter a window.

Don't ask me how I know this. DADT in enforcement now.

Lots of things will. They have to be easily accessible in an emergency. Easy to see and grab.

I am so glad you are allright. I was not here much till today and saw this. I am grateful you are still alive and unhurt. I am sorry about your jeep. oh boy.
