Jail~ Got a question....

Well, the cops did wait for 8 hours while the doctors fixed him up.

It says that the jail had an infirmary; that's not the same as a holding cell.

The family said he needed to be admitted into the hospital. It doesn't say the doctor wanted to admit him. It is up to the doctor to make medical decisions.

He's not a "patient"--he's a charged criminal. Cops don't treat patients.

I didn't read anything that said the cops took him out of the hospital against the doctor's recommendation. I don't think they "dragged" him to jail.

I missed that information in the story. Was there another link?

As long as he was in the hospital.. yes he's considered a patient yet he is a charged criminal. If you were in their (family) shoes, you would have done what you thought was best for him. So the family had only asked to let him be watched within 24 hours before taking him to jail. I know it was up to the dr to decide whether to admit him or not.

Besides that, I don't think you've read this whole thread. There has been awesome explanations from the members here and have been kind to explain. What part of the information are you missing.. most of all the infos are in this thread.

I got my own stories to tell of my life in prison

Yo, I know how you feel!!! I've been discriminated against, retaliated against, denied interpreter services despite requests made in person, denied a hearing aid, denied a job based on my disability (deafness), and etc. !!!! Hang in there, and once things are a bit settled you can file complaints before filing a federal court lawsuit. I already have multiple pending litigations in fed and state cts.

IMO, need to keep the man for overnight observation because it sounds like serious injury, since he got hit in his head, and it may be some serious head truama. After observation for a night then Dr. Should relase him to the police. Jail is no good place for recovering.

He wasn't in a jail cell. He was in an infirmary. That is like a clinic room. He could be kept under medical observation there.

I just asked my uncle who happen to work as a ER DR. He said that whoever came in ER and have some warrants on them.. The policeman will stay around UNTIL the doctors discharge the patient.. then the policeman can take the patient with their discharge approval The drs wouldnt give the patient to policeman if they think they arent ready to discharge.. hope that helps?
