It says that the jail had an infirmary; that's not the same as a holding cell.
The family said he needed to be admitted into the hospital. It doesn't say the doctor wanted to admit him. It is up to the doctor to make medical decisions.
He's not a "patient"--he's a charged criminal. Cops don't treat patients.
I didn't read anything that said the cops took him out of the hospital against the doctor's recommendation. I don't think they "dragged" him to jail.

As long as he was in the hospital.. yes he's considered a patient yet he is a charged criminal. If you were in their (family) shoes, you would have done what you thought was best for him. So the family had only asked to let him be watched within 24 hours before taking him to jail. I know it was up to the dr to decide whether to admit him or not.
