You are absolute right about the weatherbug. I had a problem with my computer because the screen went black after installing the weatherbug. I had to buy a second hard disk drive, moved my personal files into the 2nd HD, and then format my original hard disk with a clean operating system. After that, everything is back normal on the original hard disk. I lost about 10 percent, and it is better than nothing...

Yep that's so true about the weatherbug, sometimes it freezed my screen which I had to restart my computer a couple of times, so we decide to removed it...

Foxfire isn't 100% foolproof, and DOES have its own share of bugs.

Anyway, I rarely have problem with pop ups on my PC. That is because of my common sense and keep my computer clean all the time, this includes clear up cookies. i second that cuz i dont have a major problem with these stuffs on IE. as long as you use common sense, you wud be ok with it. i use IE daily and i dont have a problem. my other pc doesnt have anti virus program and it runs just fine. plus i never get popsups since SP2 on ie.

Advise use that...

Mircosoft anti-spyware: kill trojians horse/virus/hijack/malware and everything name it..
I've learned it lot from my good hearing friend who work at computer company. Who gave me secret tip is anti-spyware. So I willing help rest of Deaf people about this stuff software which it's best tools..

Here's your download:

Here is hard truth, not even one anti-spyware software is best! I have ran multiple anti-spyware softwares, some of them catch while other didn't and others catch while the other didn't, vice versa! Sure, I have M$ antispyware beta, it is alrighty. I also have xoftspy which seems to do better job with delete than Micro$oft antispyware!

What I think should happen is that congress should make spyware illegal in united states. Only problem is that Internet is really WORLD WIDE, and it is impossible to control them. So Micro$oft charges us millions of dollars for their stupid monopolized operation system, they should have given us full control on our OS, especially with registry!!! I wish I can lock the registry so that spyware can't alter my OS! Why can't I lock the registry????

You can do that but if you did, you cannot install anything on your computer unless you 'unlock' it.

Levonian, in case, my previous comment is just a joke.

I know, with attribution set up. Problem is that asshole programmer will alter the attribution. I just wish there is some sort of password where I could use to let the registry open every time I want to install something. Using password, programmer is going to have hard time figure out what is your damn password is instead of know the standard code.

I downloaded Adware Away yesterday and was like wow when I saw and tried with scan and remover. It look like it's work greatly but I make sure and ask Norton Anti Virus either trojians horse still in my computer or not. I received an answer from Norton Anti Virus saying that I STILL have trojian horse in my computer. It look like that it doesn't help? :ugh:

Oh yeah, you remind me of weatherbug. It comes to my computer itself but Norton Anti Virus warned me about weatherbug and recommend me to remove it. I did.

I go to software to delete weatherbug straight way after receive the warning from Norton AntiVirus about weatherbug.

Mozilla Firefox is nice but it doesn't have the professional feeling for me, so MSIE (Microsoft Internet Explorer) is for me. To avoid getting pop-ups, is to stop going to sites that got porngraphy, warez, games, etc. :)

Liebling:))) - have you tried scanning for virus? If not, try http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp - if you have virus, it should assist you to remove the virus.

Yes, I kept on tried and tried with scan for virus but Norton AntiVirus 2004 doesnt help. I thought Levoioan's link "Away Award" is super. It work pretty well but the Norton AntiVirus 2004 says that I still have it in my computer. :cold:

Thank you for link :thumb: I will check when I'm home from work.

My coworker told me that Norton Internet Secruity 2005 is the best advantage so I check with the man at computer shop about this. He also recommended me to buy Norton Internet Security 2005 instead of Norton AntiVirus 2005. It helps to kick trojan horse out of my computer.
http://www.retailaccess.com/symantec/nis.html It explains everything in the link.

I took the man's recommend to buy Norton Internet Security 2005 yesterday.

I still have Norton AntiVirus 2004 at home computer. It extend until end of May 2005. I will try new one tomorrow or on Thursday (German Public Holiday).

I need your help:

Is it correct that I have to remove just Norton AntiVirus 2004 in software list before install new one?

Liebling:))),

Norton Internet Secruity 2005 is not "the best" but it surely works as blocks some stuffs. my gf's laptop has it. it works for her. yet it gave me headache because i found some holes in her laptop with Norton Internet Secruity 2005 and i corrected them. my pc and laptop do not have that type security programs.

back to your question, yes, you need to remove the antivirus program by using ur antivirus CD. then you can download Norton Internet Secruity 2005. it is difficult to remove anti virus program without its CD.

deafclimber,

Thank you for feedback

I saw the commerical poster in computer shop saying that Norton Internet Secruity 2005 is number one and very good test. :dunno:

I will let you know either it's work or not. I will try with new one with your advise today or on Thursday.

One more question:

Do I have to remove everything in my computer before install new Norton Security 2005 ? OR just remove Norton AntiVirus 2004 with CD like what you advised me. ?

Exactly! This is to remind you all, there are hundreds of anti-virus programmer around the world. Their job is what? FIGURE OUT WHAT IS NEW VIRUS! Once they found the info, they add to the known viruses list. So, what does it means? It means even though world's best anti-virus software don't get updated before the rest of anti-virus software. For example, one guy at Norton Anti-virus discovered new virus, but that virus was discovered by McAfee antivuirus 6 months ago, while somebody at McAfee antivirus found new virus but Norton found it 8 months ago anyway. Antivirus programmer is much like detective job. That is why it is really difficult to determine who is the best. I used to use with Norton, now it really turns me off because it is taking too much resource memory, thus making my PC running slower.

Fact: average of about 125 new viruses were created each day, about 12 of them ACTUALLY works. So, can you catch every of them? I am sure you know how much pain in the ass to catch them.

Spyware is just another kind of malacious program. Not exactly like virus, but the idea is pretty similiar. Spyware intended to spy, or drop advertising on your computer activity without your consent, virus on other hand is program that destroys your files or even worse your computer!

no you do not need to remove any program beside norton antivirus 2004. you can remove norton antivirus 2004 with its cd. then you can download the Norton Internet Security 2005.

Thanks again, deafclimber
