Ah here we go...... Let the disagreeing resume.
I will counter with Reagan.
If that were true, how is it that we ended up with so many Presidents in the past that were not good Christians???The paradox here is that you have to be a good christian to become a US president....
Wasn't Reagan christian? He was a church goer, said the bible had all the answers and was pro-life.
Of course, it's possible he just played christian. It was an actor he was, after all.

Were there any that you would call "good Christians?"who?
With "good", I mean that they are good christians according to themselves and the expectations from their surroundings. If that were true, how is it that we ended up with so many Presidents in the past that were not good Christians???
What do you mean with "it"? If it's a grammar mistake, I would be happy if you could explain, and present the correct way to write this?(english is not one of my native languages)."It"..?!
All we know, is that they declared themselves religious on the outside. The US president have to make a oath with the bible, too?Anyone tell if presidents is good Christians are based on their opinion so we don't have accurate answer for that.
In English, "it" is the pronoun normally used for objects, not people. This sentence, "It was an actor he was, after all," would have been better cast as, "He was an actor, after all."What do you mean with "it"? A good Christian follows the tenets and spirit of Christianity. The role model for a good Christian is Jesus Christ. In fact, a "good" Christian should be a redundancy in that every Christian should live a good life in the image of Christ. With "good", I mean that they are good christians according to themselves and the expectations from their surroundings.
Sorry if you feel I misused the term "good christians", it was not the purpose, and I think I got your point. Hope we still aren't discussing religion according to the mods here.
This is the oath as required by the U.S. Constitution:All we know, is that they declared themselves religious on the outside. The US president have to make a oath with the bible, too?

To born again Christians, someone who claims to be a Christian but doesn't live like one should is either backslidden or not actually a Christian in the first place.
My point was, even though past Presidents were members of Christian churches or were by default Gentile "Christians" in name, they weren't necessarily Christians in heart or practice.

I realize that the "it" in your sentence refers to "an actor" not to Reagan but the construction is a bit uncommon for American English.
In English, to refer to a person as "it" instead of "he" or "she" implies a lack of humanity or personhood for the referenced person.
(Although your sentence did have a touch of Yoda-speak to it.)
