Is anyone here a vegetarian?

You might be interested to find out that there are few types of vegetarians, and each type of vegetarian diet differ slightly. Which type of vegetarian are you?

Vegetarians can be separated in to mainly three types:

Type 1. Semi vegetarians - They eat all types of foods in their diet, including white meat. However, they consume the limited amount of white meat (not red meat).

Type 2. Lacto vegetarians - They avoid all meats except for eggs and dairy products in their diet.

Type 3. Vegans - They avoid all animal products in their diet, such as meats, dairy products, and eggs. The vegan diet rely on lentils, beans, soy products, etc..

there is a type 4 it's what i am

Free Range Vegetarian. It's where you will only eat free range and organic foods. I would be a vegan right jnow but my body can't survive like that my iron drops and i have the risk of internal bleeding

P.S there are

Lacto- Ovo vegetarians and i believe that's that you are and that is where no meat is consummed but egg and dairy are and than there is..

Lacto Vegitarians who are almost the same as Lacto- Ovo's but they won't consume eggs

Honestly, I can't live without any meat :(

But I knew there's few people in my life are vegetarian. It's very hard for me to become vegetarian :ugh:

I'm curious, how can you become vegetarian? Since there have some of meat that is good for people's healthy?

It's actually really hard on your body vegan is even harder. There are protiens and minerals that you can only get from meet so ur body takes a huge tole. so Again it may be healthy for some people b/c of allergies and it's ok for other people but you have to pump vitamins in you to stay healthy

How i know this. I was a vegetarian for 2 years. Last summer i went to mexico for a mission trip and had to get blood taken to make sure i was healthy well i wasn't. My iron was so low it not only looked like I was internally bleeding but that i had the possibility to start by zinc was low and some blood cell count was very low. I went to mexico and started eating meat again because the orphanage that we were at was serving meat and i didn't want to be rude so i ate meat (P.S to anyone who is vegetarian if u do come back to eating meat start with white meat first and small amounts other wise you will be sorry) and now that my levels are comming back up when i'm fully healthy again i can start weaning off meat

i am not vegian can't be vegian cuz of my plm with iron being up and down lot

Veganism is much more stricter and focus on vegetable, avoid to wear clothes that made from animal (fur, leather, wool) and avoid to buy products that have tested on animal.

That's sounds anti-animal... :hyper:

I'm moderate vegetarian but I only can eat eggs, ground beef (hamburger, meat loaf, spaghetti, pizza), chicken fingers, boneless chicken, grilled chicken, grilled pork chop steak, catfish and shrimp. I can't eat any meat that have bone in it, such as ribs, fried chicken, chicken wings, fried pork chop, steak with bone and any foods that contains bone inside but some of them need cut off from other person, such as chefs and removes the bone and fats before start cook.

I hate tuna and any food with bone inside. :barf:

Nope, they love Animals, don't like to wear stuffs that is from animal or have tested on animal which they have HIGH respect for animals. I knew about it by my friends who are vegetarian. It's not anti-animal.

Do you know that some people don't like to eat meat with bone inside? How is my post about meat bone.

Eeek! No, I'm a meat person. Looking at that cow *smacking my lips*

Semi-vegetarian here. I don't eat cow/pig meats. Greasy and fattenin' are bad for heart. I usually eat fish, chicken and turkey. I mostly eat " green " salads along with crab or shrimp. Yum !

Of course, I don't like to eating any meat with the bone inside. It does gross me out but I sometime could be stubborn to eating them  just depends on kind of meat with the bone inside that I would admit to eat ;)

I've eaten a strict vegan diet for the past 15 years. I don't eat any meat, fish, dairy products etc. I also don't eat any oils other than olive and no fried food.

I feel more healthy, strong and energetic since taking up this type of eating. I wouldn't eat meat for anything, and the thought that I ever did grosses me out.

It isn't much harder to meet your nutritional requirements eating this way than it is with other foods; people in N. American tend to have deficiencies whether they eat meat and dairy or not, if they don't make sure they get the foods they need.

I know a lot of people who have eaten like this for years, and others who were raised eating a vegan diet since birth. It is becoming more mainstream.

It may sound strict, but the foods are amazing and it really is a new adventure in cuisine. Have fun trying some vegan/vegetarian dishes whether it is all the time or occasionally!

In my case, I don't have any other agendas, such as animal rights. That is just a side-benefit of my lifestyle.

I'm not a vegetarian, per say, but I love soy meat, and other vegan foods. I have a friend who makes a mean platter of vegan ribs. I've considered giving up meat completely, but I love chicken and hamburgers too much. I think I will eventually end up a vegetarian, but for now, I'm only vegetarian-by-association.

Lacto-Ovo vegetarian here.
However, I do remove the white goop in the eggs because that is the embryo. So you can say I am Lacto-vegetarian because I just eat the yolk.
I became a full-fledged vegetarian about two years ago (for several months, I ate chicken once every two weeks to keep up with my protein intake, but I switched over to protein powder). Never feel this healthy and active before in my life.
it is NOT that hard to be a vegetarian. I even stayed a vegetarian in Turkey (many classmates were told to drop their vegetarianism by our professor!). You just have to know your indergient and necessarities and you are good to go. Many people didn;t realize that there are SO many plates that you can eat WITHOUT meat. There are only five animals we can eat whereas we can eat dozens of different vegetables! So you can imagine how MANY dishes can be made with just vegetables...
