lol i'm not offended! i never seen american pie actually. my parents wouldn't let me anyways lol. so i don't mind. I have band camp again tomorrow, and we're going to clean out the percussion room in the high school. Its such a biggggggggggggggg mess. we have like random crap on the floor. and we have to clean up our mirambas and vibes. and the battery (the drumline aka, the bass, snare, quad snares and cymbals) has to tune up their drums. and we have to inspect all the mallets to make sure that they're good to use. i got enough sleep. i slept in till 12:30 (lunchtime) lol.

Wow, you are a very busy girl and having lots of fun at the band camp and going for number 2 band camp tomorrow. That is a lot better than staying home and just idling away with nothing to do. This is the way to have young people find things to do for the summer before school start like on August 20. If this is the music you love which a lot of deafies could not relate to music because of our hearing disabilities, then go for it and just have fun doing both in band camps and in high school. I am very proud of you for doing this. Way to Go, Girl!!!!!

:giggle::aw::aw: thanks!!! I'm actually probably the first deaf girl that the marching band ever had at my high school now. I have to work at a big event tomorrow. I have band camp from 1-9pm everyday now until school starts on august 20th. We have the weekend off. But tomorrow we have a shorter band rehersal. Tomorrow on tuesday for band we have 9AM-noon. Because of the event going on is called: Soaring Sounds. Its Marching band colleges from around USA and probably around the other side of the world lol. And it starts from 7:00pm-whatever. ANd I guess I have to help out by helping them out setting things up on the feild. I'll have to ask my Leader section what we're going to do. My sister is staying home. But my parents are also volunteering there. I have to work there for the night. Then I have a 4th shift work for our hometown Centerville Fire Department Ice Cream 66th Annual. And i'm also working for that shift for the marching band too. I'm working with kids at the high school. probably for 2 and a half hours. But that Ice Cream annual is going to be on august 10th. Then in that 2 weeks later (august 26th) I have my birthday/school day/ and band practice after school. which is at 3:15-5:30ish i think. Basiclly we have band rehersals almost every day after school. :eek3: But i'm working my butt off. Sadly I took my IPod with me for a week at Miami university w/ my marching band, and my IPod got broke. The screen is broken...i got sadd.. I listen to my IPod like almost everyday. And I asked for a new IPod for my birthday. My ipod was the first generation that Apple created. soo. it was a couple years old.. oh well.

Thankss!!! i'm still tired..i just got back home an hour ago from my 1-9pm band rehersal. we're having a 9AM-noon rehersal again then we have to go back there at 1:30 to watch the collage marching band reherse at our football feild then I have to go back at 6PM to work at the biggg collage competition event called: Soaring Sounds. We were outside like all evening today..soo i jsut took a good long shower lol :giggle:

ARound here the marching bands dont even start marching until the first week of September. And yes we have some the crappiest marching I've seen from a high school band. They can play music wonderfully because the instructor is a music fanatic and is good at arranging instruments.

But I think she would rather do concerts than marching, she just strikes me as that type.

I remember as a kid our band was one of the largest clubs in our school because we had an awesome Director. I think the year she resigned we had 100+ members in the senior high marching band alone. That was back when they had a junior high pep band for the junior high football games and when they moved up to senior high they got to march on the field on Friday nights for the senior high football games. But you had to be at minimum in 9th grade to march with the Senior high and you had better know your stuff to even ask.

After she resigned we got a really shitty director that was just an ass from the get-go. Our award-winning marching band dwindled from 100+ members down to 40 by Christmas break. By the following year, they had at most maybe 30 people on the field and the school board was seriously considering calling off the marching band activities until the student body started showing more interest and increased membership to justify the cost of such a club. But those hardcore 10-15 members said as long as there was a marching band they would march no matter how few people were on the field.

In the fall of 2002, they combined the senior and junior high band students to form the marching band with a membership of 40 in total.

Since then we have gotten a new director and the membership is slowly coming back and I think it is hovering around 50-60 members now. Enough that you can start doing cool formations.

But to get back to the 100+ membership and award winning is going to take alot of work and time.
