Hello everyone! I am currenly in college taking a ASL 2 course in Ohio. I am required to use a TTY and a relay operator to communicate with a Deaf or HOH person, we are not allowed to do this with anyone that goes to our college, and I do not know any other Deaf or HOH people. Would anyone be willing to use the TTY or relay operator with me? I just need to ask a few questions about yourself. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help! to AllDeaf forum. You must be hearing. I am glad you are taking the courses in ASL 1 and 2 in Ohio. What do you mean you are required to use the TTY or TDD? Where do you come from? You can go to the Deaf event and socialize if you have the skill of signing the ASL. You will learn a lot from us with our experiences as Deaf people whether it is hard of hearing or just lost their hearing loss(Late Deafen). There are many topics you can browse and choose from. I would love to help. But I am weary about giving my email address and phone number to a stranger.
I am sure you have good intentions. But I would recommend you to Go to a local deaf event and meet some deaf people, and do so in that manner. That way you know the face that you are talking to VIA relay to TDD.
