I went to doctor this morning

Wow, that's good thing that you went to doctor and found out that you have it, please get well soon!

And, good thing that you quit smoking becuase smoking will slow people down to getting heal up, not heal up quickly like non-smokers... That's what my parents and their doctor told me... :|

Well, I am taking amoxicillin 500 MG, I have to take it 3 times a day for 10 days.... I have insurance but I only co-pay.. .I also am on an inhaler as well... I decided to stop smoking anyways...

Hello Rachel!, long time I haven't seen you on this board for awhile. I realized you had a sick and mild heart conditions, hopefully get well soon :)

Yep I had amoxicillin meds for dental operations (stays in the hospital for few days) for long time ago.

I have a RX insurance called Pacificare Insurance based in California and full 100% RX coverage, no co-pay, no deductions, it's for Medicare Part D program.

Medical Assistance coverage does not pay a RX's, just only medical equiptments for 20% coverages and medically appts.

Medicare Part B for medical equiptments 80% coverage and medically appts (some not covered for a labs and TS/TB shots). and other part A for hospital stays coverage max of $120,000.00

Oh I just had that a week before I went back to work. Good thing I got better from it before going back to work.

Get well soon and get back on your feet fast enough for you to enjoy your life. I am happy that you quit smoking.

It takes 7 years for your lungs to clean out the old smoking stuff. It is a long way to go, and it is a good idea for you to stop smoking right now no matter what. What a brave that you gave up the smoking! I hope that you are feeling better soon.

They told me it take 3 years for your lungs to become clear again that is if u havent started smoking again.

Even insurance asked about that. if you were a former smoker, they have right to know if you did smoke in past or not and how long ago was it that you quit too. they told me it takes 3 years? i dont know. i guess i will ask doctor how long it will take lung to clear and be pure again? Hmm..

Hope you feel better soon and take it easy on your heart. Also try to keep your hands busy when the cravings for cigarettes hit--play with rubber bands, pens, etc. Good luck quitting the smoking habit. :)

Oh really. Does the insurance charge more money for smokers than non-smoker? I would say to the insurance that I faked smoking in the hot shower from the steam so I saved a bunch of money on my insurance.

I hope you get to feeling better soon racheleggert!! Being sick's no fun I understand:(

I went to doctor this morning for two reasons... one- I have been sick for 2 weeks, and two- my mom noticed that I have irregular heart beat/rate...

Doctor found out that I have brothochsis (sp?) and I was lucky that my heartbeat isn't low below I believe low HR is 50 or something.... I am above 60 and I am lucky I went to DR before I had any heart attack because of heart diease history in my family....

This weekend I am going to stay home and rest, not go anywhere.... I need to recover than be more active.

i am not sure about that. I will ask my sister if the insurance charged her more for smoking? She was the one who told me this about insurance asking her question about smoking and have to be clean from not smoking for 3 yrs. sigh. i thought it was strange.

i should have asked her if they did charged her. i have too many things on my mind due to my son TJ that day when i went over to see her ha :)
