I had problem with vending machine sometime at work. It stole my money, doesn't give me change or food are old. I simply take out envelope provided by vendor and write my name, TOUR, and amt lost to vending machine and even explain what was the problem w/ vending machine or food. In few days, I get envelope of refunds. LOL.
I remember back in old day (in 1980's). I was only 14, one of hotel had really old vending machine that had a gently spiral rod inside glass window where junk foods hung on punch holes. (not like today which are BIG corkscrews). I paid 25 cents for candy and punch number/letter combination. It turns but didn't drop food. I got so mad and grabbed top of machine and pulled halfway down and shook the machine hard and pushed back. I got jackpot of candies, cupcakes, mudpies ect (not everything fell down, just anything that hung on 1st and 2nd screw tip) The machine wasn't that heavy to shake tho. I took all of it and brought in the hotel room and snicker at my brother and told of what happened. He freaked out
Today's vending machine are more secure and hard to steal (That's good). Sometime someone got lucky seeing candy or cupcakes or cookies hanging by it's thread or landed on glass without falling down. Simply shake a machine and it'll fall. Sometime I use long hard thin pieces of cardboard and slip under the chute and hit the junk food that was hanging there (which employee paid for it and got stuck food inside). Employees thanked me for getting their food what they paid for LOL. Sometime I was asked to shake the machine. I did it real rough and everyone laugh so hard. I often got it out. I'm resourceful to get the stuck food out.. My boss didn't care at all.
Rarely, some machine churn out two or three for price of one LOL.
Some vending machine have lousy mechanism that I can't trust using it per my experience.
