I am witness the repo!!! :-O

I don't. Instead - I feel bad for company forcing to take action to this heartbreaking decision when one does not pay up.

Nobody enjoys taking people's car but they gotta especially when they paid for it.

True... :(

Repo men have rights to tow cars, trucks, boats, yachts, etc because owners are behind the payments. I know someone used to work as a repo man in LI in the past.

I was told by other person that someone knew that he was behind payments on the car, so he relocated his car into out of state for a while in order to avoid getting repo until he is back on payments, then he brought his car back where it is originated. No joke.

fake. sad.

Yeah, researched that and of course it's fake. No professional suits, no ID, etc. It's just a TV show based on what can happen in real life sometimes.

My cousin is filing for bankruptcy and she knows her van is on a repo list. What's sad is that she has two young children and works long hours. She may very well find herself stranded and unable to go anywhere as her van may get repo'd at any time.

Her issues of bankruptcy is not due to the economy, it is her poor money management skills or the lack therof altogether. She was so caught up in having the absolute best for her kids (read: name brand everything and several trips to Disney On Ice and Build-A-Bear Workshop) that she would literally put everything on a credit card including her vehicle payments. She's so upside down on everything that when she is done she will likely have ZERO credit, and will have to give her van back to the finance company and will be bumming rides from other people until she can come up with enough cash to pay for a vehicle outright. She's learning her lesson for sure. She's already cut up all of her credit cards and is going through all the legal steps necessary to file for bankruptcy. She will still have to pay her debtors back, but they will end up settling for what they can get and it still won't be the full amount owed. She'll get a small reduction in her debts if anything.

I'm just glad I have been absolutely meticulous about making my payments on time every month and to pay my bills as quickly as possible. Because of this, my credit is in good standing even though I don't have a lot of money. I have a feeling this will help in the long run.

As for this guy and his truck, he was likely in debt much further than he wanted to admit and it ended up costing him dearly. I don't know his situation so I can't judge him.

It would be interesting to see the guy's reaction when he discovered his truck was gone.

Umm ......fake repo guys steal cars all the time....it was probably a repo guy but ya Neva know

well.... what your friend can do is "obscure" the VIN # :dunno:

Well the dude would probably say it's stolen to save face in front of his friends when he really knows it got repo'd. The PD will run the plates on it and it will come back as repossessed by finance company for non-payment, not stolen.

no. Just have dozens of muni-tickets scattered all over dashboard :)

The VIN number on my truck can't be obscured. It has a box around it that goes all the way up to the window and the VIN number is printed on a metal plat that's bolted to the vehicle behind the glass. I thought this was standard in modern vehicles.
