Hundreds pray for dog that killed a child

Or lets say, parents left their children at the pool area and they drowned. Who is blamed? People who were there, pool itself, or parents?

Hypothetical situations have hypothetical bearings, if anyone has a say about what should've happened it's the people involved in the situation. You don't know anything about what is going on, you have no evidence. You are only acting on the basis of opinion, which is why court cases don't always go in favor of the people.

So let's say the dog hurt the cat. Look at the owners? Or a horse ran too fast and the boy died after falling off. Or a policeman got beat up by the public. Or there was no big bang theory. Or Tupac Shakur didn't die, he only got hurt. Or if Abraham lincoln was alive we wouldn't have a recession.

What's the hell are you talking about?

Dog hurt the cat. That depends on the situation. Whose dog? Whose cat? Was the dog on its own property? Lease law? Was the cat unattended roaming around on the dog owners property. Eventually it goes back to owners responsiblities.

Horse ran too fast.. Did the owner or parents of the child allowed the boy on the horse? Did the boy have a helmet on? Horses gets spooked easily. Again animals will react on instinct. Someone is responsible. Who allowed the kid to ride in the first place?

If a policeman got beat up by the public then it is the publics fault.

What ifs?? You can guess it all day long. The point is someone is always responsible. Not the animal!!!

Malcolm Gladwell wrote an interesting article on the pit bull breed. Essentially he argues that the blame lies in how the dog is raised and not on the breed itself.

And here's a follow up blog post Gladwell wrote on the subject again
gladwell.com: The PitBull Paradox

Yeah, I've already seen Gladwell's portion. He has a valid point, but the caveat is that the timeline since then, studies have became focused to reduce error margins. This has been out awhile, but a rather interesting summation of the other side of the debate. It is based on the arguments that come from pro-animal activists, and documented replies than personal opinion.
Pit Bull Myths - Dangerous Dogs - DogsBite.org

Myth #1: It's the owner not the breed
Myth #2: It's impossible to identify a pit bull
Myth #3: Human-aggressive pit bulls were "culled"
Myth #4: Fatal attack statistics about pit bulls are false
Myth #5: The media conspiracy against pit bulls
Myth #6: Pit bulls are not unpredictable
Myth #7: Pit bulls do not have a locking jaw
Myth #8: Pit bulls used to be the most popular dog in America
Myth #9: Pit bulls pass the American Temperament Test
Myth #10: Punish the deed not the breed
I don't even want to bother with who is right or not, because those can go forever. I see that pits do bite, and seemingly do it more than any other dog type.

That "seemingly" is an important part. If a pit bull bites, it is going to do serious damage. Even if it doesn't "bite," as such, but puts its teeth on human skin, especially a baby's or child's arm, hand, or face, it is going to do damage.

A toy Poodle, a Chihuahua, a Pomeranian - not so much. Who is going to bother to report those bites? No one, except in the very rare case that serious damage was done.

So it IS going to seem like pit bulls bite more than others, because those bites are reported. Whether they actually DO bite more than other dog breeds is open for debate.

I lol'ed at that statistic cuz they had to expand its range so wide... 28 years span!

I wonder what's the statistic for 2009-2010... :hmm:

Yes, but Dobermans bite more than pit bulls and those aren't banned much. *sigh*

The dog did not commit a murder. It's a dog. The PARENTS should be scrutinized !

I wonder if the dog thought the baby was going to get hurt going something and it tried to stop the baby or maybe the baby hurt the dog and the dog was trying made the baby behave. I do not understand why any parent would leave baby alone with any dog!! Some dogs get very jealous of new babies . Finlay was jealous of my granddaughter when she was a baby . This is a real sad story! We need some happy stories to read!!

I have no idea how this got post 2 x!!

Do you know the dog?

Dogs are considered personal properties. Therefore, you are liable for their actions. If you hit someone with your car, are you going to blame the car?

People can make as many excuses they want to, they are still liable for their dog's actions.
